Been out of town but the nav. lights and retract servo is in so now I'll find some time this weekend and get started and hopefully if not this weekend....I should have it wrapped up by next weekend! Update....the nav. lights is alittle more involed than I expected. I thought they simply get shoved into a hole that you drilled out on the fuse and plug the damn thing in and thats all....well, I am finding out now that it takes a bit more time to properly locate each one and getting them installed correctly. That said, I had to fabricate some mounts so the lights would fit snug in certain locations. Its all working well though but just taking a bit longer than I expected....oh well. I am currently stuck trying to figure out how to mount the landing lights. I was thinking of fabricating something up to mount it into the retracts...as they're coming down the lights will come on. Still toying with this idea but we'll see.

Well, had some time to kill last night after work so I decided to finish off a few more lights. I am guessing that the nav. lights system from RCA can be used for both planes and helis cause I don't think I needed every single light option that was included in the kit. From a diagram I got off of the internet, looks like my Airwolf just calls for a strobe at the tail, 1 beacon on top and 1 on the bottom, 1 green nav. light on the right and 1 red nav. on the left. Leaving 3 taxi lights, 2 strobes (which I added behind near the rear retracts), 2 landing lights (which I've used 1 on the front retract).
I am thinking I will find a location for the remaining lights. I was thinking also that since the Airwolf is not what most ppl consider as a "real" helicopter, going as close to scale is not as important therefore I am going to use all of the lights and make it my own. Any thoughts or inputs on nav. lights on a scale that anyone else that have done? Thanks.....

I got the light kit from Cliff for the 500 Seahawk. The same thing here. More lights than necessary, so I plan to improvise since the graphics I'm working on are NOT found on any bird. Besides lights LOOK COOL!!!

Drew you really need to post a video up of the working retracts and navigation lights. Put the belly of the bird on a box or some books. Can't wait to see how it came out!

One step closer after today guys....the mech. has been fitted into the fuse. Gotta say though, fitting it into the fuse has been the most challenging part so far. What I mean is, everything has to be right and not hit anything while its in the fuse. Some grinding was needed so the swash will clear the top of the fuse. Stay tune....more to come and hopefully everything will be completed by tomorrow.
