It would appear that my problem is opposite to what yours was, with the lock sitting on the top of the button, the legs are still a 1/4" from touching the flybar cage. I will have to go dig around my bandsaw and grinder to see if I have a couple pieces of precision ground steel that I can use to wedge in from the bottom of the lock legs. I was going to take a picture of it, but I guess that I forgot to turn it off the last time and the battery need charging

The battery is bone dry so it may not be till this evening when it finally hits full charge. I find this Sony charge to be super slow as compared t the old one

OK finally had enough time and a charged battery to take a picture In the picture you can see how the leg does not reach the flybar, and the top of the lock is sitting on the the head button. to get any pressure on the flybar to hold it straight during the pitch setting I am going to have to find something to wedge inbetween the legs of the lock and the flybar cage. To get pressure on the flybar and the bottom of the button I am looking at about 3/16"- 3/8"

That's why you use a shorter head button to lower the flybar lock to the cage !!! Simple.

Thats simple if you live some where close to an Align dealer, closest to me is 50 miles north It is much simpler for me to take some scrap steel and make a wedge to take up the space. I have lots of scrap steel kicking around and my grinder makes short work of taking it to shape This was from while I still lived in Winnipeg, my work space is larger now and I have added a tool rest and a power switch to the VFD. This is what I make with the grinder

Oh the blasphemy of that statement you can never have too many toys ;D. The one in the picture is the one that paid for my 600, I really need to get out there and make more

Was going to ask how you charged for something like that - A custom knife would be really cool but that is a little rich for my blood at the moment - but damn I have to start saving
Beautiful knife

If I can ever get the shop cleaned out I have a few more to finish off that are cheaper. Right now all I have finished is a couple of personal use knives:(

Its hard to find a block of CF that size, as for the handle that one has, that picture doesn't show the true beauty of the piece of wood. This one gives a better idea of what the handle really looks like It is stabilized black dyed redwood burl. Everyone of those swirls are a purplish silver and they shimmer in the sun light sort of how a hologram does so they look like they are moving as you move the knife. Everyone has their own personal taste and I would never tell someone they were wrong for having different taste than I have ;D

With September having arrived and the 600 still sitting on the bench even though I have everything to get it in the air, I am thinking of holding off on the maiden till next spring I find that my nerves are just a little too on edge for it right now. You never know after I get the setup done I may change my mind, I pretty much have a complete crash kit now thanks to everything I already broke coming in pairs when I replaced them. I even have 3 sets of spare blades on standby. Its sad though I can see the dust on the main blades and right now there is a baby spider making a web between the flybar and flybar lock On the subject of the flybar lock I picked up a box of washers to shim it up, I just have to find 4 that are combine to make two stacks that are the same height.
