what would you like to know about the BW? How does it compare to other units like Beastx, CYG-750,V-Bar or ACE-GT5 on flight characteristics? Ease of set-up? Can it be programmed directly using your radio and the FBL unit or do you need to connect it to a PC. Is it compatible with Futaba S.Bus? How about Spektrum satellites? If so do you need to buy an adaptor or will it plug directly into the BW? Their seems to be a lot of mystery surrounding the BW FBL unit and I for one would like to have some answers before I through my money down.

wow that about covers my questions as well lol. Im telling you that the new Tarot, copterx FBL units are super easy to set up. A guy over on rcgroups wrote his own program for them and its dummy proof now. You can program with your transmitter, but its a pain in the butt. For $6 you can get the usb adapter and program through your pc. Thats only like a $50FBL unit and it has excellent reviews. Still needs the seperate receiver though. Thats the only downside in my opinion. So details on the BW would be nice so we can compare apples to apples

I know that the BW needs a separate receiver as well

Here is a couple of pics of my Quick UK Thumb Screw Canopy mount modification. I used Quick UK T-Rex 700 Nitro Thumb Screw mounts and a couple left over spacers from a Quick UK Header Tank to spacer the rear mounts out the right amount. I also ditched the soft grommets and used Outrage 550 Pro grommets. I used all stock holes in the frame, no drilling. No more crappy lower canopy clip and a solid mounted canopy.

I had thumb screws on my Furion 6 and hated them! I really like the canopy clip method and hope it doesn't become problematic on the 550.

I have thumb screws on everything 550 and bigger, and love them. I had a problem with the clip the FIRST time I tried to assemble it. The extra thick CF frame makes it hard to go on all the way and it snapped.

Hey guys I was under the impression from the beginning that the head was going to be a satin finish not a polished. I will see it tomorrow for the first time. Rov and I will be doing a build video of ours... as for small inperfections, I had to dremmel out my bearing mounts on my Trex 600 ESP for them to fit correctly. Its just the way of all kits regardless of the brand. These are the first off the line, and we will document what needs attention in QC checks.
Mrs Chaos post some video of your hovering of this new bird please.

Mrs Chaos post some video of your hovering of this new bird please. The head was supposed to be polished and was listed as such on the description. Cliff has such taken the "Polished" out of the description. The pics of the prototype are polished. The little things can and do add up to big things. Not trying to knock anything because I know Cliff will make any problems right. We all know the quality control in China is next to non existant.

The extra thick CF frame makes it hard to go on all the way and it snapped. Backburner1955, The reason your clip was so hard to get on is because you have the bottom plate on backwards. The cutout that you have at the rear is supposed to be at the front so the clip will go on. It's a common 550 build mistake. It has happened to many people.

DOH!... Thanks for pointing that out. It might have helped to have a manual...

It happened to me this summer when I was building my Align 550. And I had a manual. LOL
I didn't break the clip but almost broke my thumb trying to push it on when I finally saw the cutout on the rear of the bottom plate.
BIG DOH! I had a manual right in front of me and still did it.
