My aluminum arms and longer balls came in today. Here are a few pics for everyone to look at. Much better geometry now and it no longer rubs the canopy You can really tell the difference side to side

Pics suck lol. But the first pic is with the new ball link give me enough clearance for no rubbing with the canopy. Second pic is the stock hardware.

so I got the heli assembled. It went together pretty easy for me. I am a jeweler so I have all the cool tools. So now it is time for the electronics. Any suggestions on servos and motor and speed control you guys like. I have been eying the viper motor, but that new kde motor looks nice. But is it worth 200 bucks. I am pretty sure I will go with a castle speed control. This is my first heli I built, so I am willing to go with some high end stuff to feel all the glory here. If money was not an object here, what would you guys do to power this beast.

well I am not too talented with the sticks. I can do some basics 3d type stuff. I was thinking a 6 cell with a motor that is efficient and made right. Seems some motors can produce the same power but with less power. If you guys tell me to go 12 cell I will do it though LOL. I would like to stick to 6 or two 4 cells for an 8 cell setup. Does that sound reasonable?

If money was not an object, I would go personally go with the Kontronik Jive 100+ LV ESC Viper VSH 6013 motor Outrage BL 9180 servos for cyclic Outrage BL 9188 servo for rudder Western Robotics Hercules Super BEC Just my opinion and will be using these exact same electronics in another project that I haven't started yet.

Mts Chaos.......I don't have a BW I'm still old school ( lol ). Looking at your pic it looks like the BW is mounted to the left of the tail boom. Should it not be in dead center?

The stock power setup is an 1100kv motor.... with its light weight it runs like a rabbit... I would do a 1100-1200kv motor with a castle ice 100 on 6s, but that is just me.

Yes, you are correct. I did fix this after the pic was taken.

I heard that repeated removal and replacement caused the gyro tape to fail in flight... I think Mrs. Chaos took here 550 home in a trash bag... sorry to pick on ya... I don't think the fact that the BW is off center over the boom makes any difference, it just needs to be straight in line with the heli frame, not crooked.
