I was so tied up looking at the 550e manual online, I was getting aggravated looking through my parts thinking they forgot to send me the tail servo mount like the 550e has lol. I had to look through some pics on this site to try and figure out how the tail servo got mounted.

I went and switched it, now it will go, but I still like how solid the thumb screw setup is. I did order a new t-rex clip when I ordered a couple other parts for me.

Like Eric stated last night we will be doing the build on our birds today. These are the first run product from the factory. If there are any issues or QC concerns they will be thoroughly documented and straightened out before the next run.
These are R/C Model helicopters and sometimes a little ingenuity is required to put them together. I have built quite a few helis and planes and to be honest there is always going to be some level of modification or "making it fit just right".
As aggravating as it may seem to observe either a cosmetic defect, or a fitment issue, all of your concerns and observations are being taken in and will be corrected in the next run of 550s.
RCA's customer service is second to none, and if you have any problems with your product please call Cliff or Rob and it will be resolved.

OK guys, finally my 550 came in. An "unboxing video" will be uploaded here shortly for everyone to see. As for my BW fbl head everyone is talking about not being polished...well, mine is polished I believe as you can tell in these photos I posted here. It was a little dusty but nontheless...it was polished and not dull at all. Moving onto the canopy issue, again...mine wasn't as bad as some of you guys has stated. I didn't see much of the dust or dirt under the clear coat. As for the painted lines/graphics not being straight, I think thats actually the shape of the canopy being alittle bent out of shape as you'll see me explaining on my video. Other than those two main things complained about on here, the carbon tail blades will be shipped out to all of us who purchased a kit...I am not really worried about that as I know RCA is good about taking care of their customers. That said, I know the canopies will be replaced as well but as far as those who don't think their rotor heads are polished enough..you can try alittle "wadding polish". I have a small can of it from "Eagle One", you can pick it up from any auto supply store...it does a great job on cleaning and polishing all metals. Also, as for the stop button on top of the rotor head not being included...I actually kind of like it plain. I guess its a personal thing but I've also included a pic. here to show that I just added a screw to fill the hole...basically make it more complete looking. I like it so much that I did the same on my 600...LOL. BW FBL head with screw added

At best that is machine finished and smooth casting, not polished. A ploished aluminum head should look like a mirror.

The original head on my chaos 600 was mirror polished and thats what I was expecting when I purchased my 550. Wish cliff could round me up a polished one hint hint As far as the head stopper goes I just used an extra one I had laying around. I like having something to pick up the heli by.

So Dr Evil. Did your CF mount fit into your frame slots? Were the screws to long for the tail boom bracket that bolts the boom supports on? Or was mine a random incident?

Dr. Evil,
If you want to see a Canopy that has MANY pieces of trash under the clear coat just let me know. I live just a few miles from Wake Forest and would be happy to show you a HORRIBLE canopy and a VERY DULL "Polished" head.
I guess I should have known better. I am always telling people "you get what you pay for" and this Chaos kit is a perfect example of getting what you pay for. We paid for a clone of an Align helicopter that is inferior in every way, from fit to finish.
