Yeah, I hear atleast the main frame is just that but with a belt drive system though. I'll be interested to see exactly how it handles hard 3D like Lon puts it to test...LOL.

The belt drive helis are so quiet and smooth. Can't wait to hear ghostflyer's opinion of the KDS version.

Andy Im not going to pull an all night build and video it. I wanna take my time with it. make some notes and assesments. I will have to learn the ebar programming module for KDS's FBL controller. If it needs modifications Im going to do that while im building it. The last heli I built flew together because someone was being impatient to fly it.... Yes Bryan thats you... But it was fun to see how fast I could do it without mistakes. Lets just say I want to disect this new bird.
Chumley you can make the Chaos more quiet by putting a helical style main gear on it.

Remember you will have to match the pinion to that gear too.

Alright guys you want some updates. Well here goes. The build on this thing is actually quite simple, and could probably be built in 4 to 5 hours, if you have everything and go into build monster mode. I personally am just tinkering with it in the evenings after work. Take apart everything and apply locktite as there not a drop on anything. My kit is a pre mainstream kit so it actually uses a flybar head *phasing pins and all* with out the flybar. The locking collar is held in place by the phasing pins and 2 grub screws. I am making some changes of my own to this. I removed the phasing pins, and will be changing the phasing collar to one that actually clamps. Without the pins the grub screw will not hold in place in my opinion. I am also putting some heavier tailboom supports on it as the ones for the 700 seem a little weak to me. The Ebar which is the 3 axis gyro which comes with it is easy to program and comes with a programming interface which is very intuitive. Looking forward to seeing how it dials in and responds. Installing the main shaft can be a bit of a pain as there is not alot of room to work with so I unmounted the center bearing mount slid it up put everything in, added the belt and slid the mount back down and re locktited it. It is actually a very clean build and design, with direct servo to swash linkages. I will also be looking into the exact specs of the digital servos and will post them when I find them. Attachments:
