Yah you saw it in the big tin can in my jeep on the way back from IRCHA Yep, that is a mother load of a motor to say the least...I bet it can crank your jeep's engine if the starter decides to go...LOL.

Well it looks like this thing is going to continue to be a conversational piece and a decoration for my apt..... I just blew up another 120HV speed controller in it Update -- Im am still undecided which way I want to go with this yet. I am seriously thinking about putting a MKIII 530kv motor in it at this point. That big monster seems to be pulling to much current going into idle up. Both Innov8tive designs and castle have given the motor a clean bill of health so im not sure which way to proceed.

Well the KDS 700 found a design flaw.... On Sunday it had a catastropic hardware malfunction. The tail gear pully where the 3mm pin attaches to the main shaft failed causing the mainshaft to lift while in flight. This induced a full negative collective on the rotors slamming it into the ground. There was no time to respond nor any possibility of attempting an auto. I have been in touch with KDS directly about this but I have no illusions of them replacing it..... Shame too I really liked this thing.

Alright guys here is an update. I know it has been a long while, but I have been busy and I also created an certain amount of pardon the pun *Chaos* for myself with this bird.
Motor seen above.... pulled it.... pulls to much power and I blew up 3 speed controllers. Replaced it with a 4035-500kv motor
AutoRotation gear defect. whole center section came apart during third dial in hover. Result .... one wrecked helicopter as the main shaft slid straight up inducing full negative pitch on the blades..... *hit so hard we felt it in the ground 15 feet away.... probably picked up by the USGS..... :/
Nicky and Chris came through at KDS. The new kit met me at IRCHA with all the upgrades and design changes. Aluminum autorotation gear, DFC style head, New canopy design, slightly shorter tailboom, redesigned tail hub. Thing is Beautiful... almost to the point that im afraid to fly it.... Although my buddy Allen wrung it out pretty good after he helped me tweek the 3 axis gyro.
Will add pics this evening when I get home
