Did anyone ever figure out how to really get the soft start on the Phoenixtech 100A ESC working?
I have mine programmed for soft start, I think, from listening to the beeps & boops, but it still hammers the gear hard if you don't sneak up on it with throttle trim then use the throttle stick to get it spinning. It's fine once spinning and go to S1/2, but getting it going makes me a nervous wreck.

I need to ask him again as I want to know how to do it. Maybe he'll see this and post his settings.

Mine is inconsistent at times. If I just increase the throttle to half from the get go the soft start works and I actually have it set at 8 seconds which is entirely too long now that I have been using it a lot. If I creep the throttle up slowly it jerks so I find it best to go to half and it goes smoothly. With that being said I have had to break the habit of just starting in idle up. On my castles I never set a normal mode. It's a 0% curve straight across. I was told to do this by the castle guys ( which I have spent a lot of time with) 1 because I never cruise around in normal mode and 2 it has to do with the speed control not accidents arming and something with the bailout mode I think. Anyways my phoenixtech has actually worked very well after I learned all the programming

Thanks in advance....

I just had mine jerk on start up and the blades folded and needless to say it wasn't good. New blades flybar are on the way as well as a new esc with a program box.

I would really like to see a video of this. I had another go at this a while ago with no luck. All the process worked as per instructions and I got all the beeps etc to say it was in soft start but I had no luck. I go to the field with my 3 heli's to so each one can cool down between flights and one of these days I will flip the switch into idle up. I might have another of later as its raining here today if I get it to work I'll put up a video.

In my videos of the 550 you can hear the slow spool up. That's the only reason I hover for a few seconds before i I start flying is to get the head speed up. I am simply going to half throttle, when it has enough head speed to hover I go to 3/4 throttle and click into idle up and get another head speed change. Soft start does work. Like I said I set mine too slow. I sill se if I can go through the programming and maybe make a video

I had another go this evening. I turned the soft start on and off and it made no difference!

If I remember correctly the instructions get a bit confusing. I too programmed mine several times until I fully understood the program sequence.

Well done James I will give that a go. Two things though.....
1.. .Add a caption note on your video to tell people to remove the main AND tail blades.
2... Where the hell did you get the instructions??? I think that might be the issue at the end of the day. I have no problem with the programming of things but what you did does not match my instructions and I have two sets which also don't match each other.
