What ever happened to these? I own a 600 Seahawk. I just completed it ( I build slow) and after reading about the failure rate I'm really concerned about destroying a $500+ fuse due to a tail failure. I also noticed on the site the drive unit isn't even sold anymore. Any help or ideas out there on this? I really like this quality of the fuse but it's worthless unless it flies. Thanks Mike Attachments:

WOW! First off, let me just say that is one nice looking bird. You did a really good job on it. Now, as for help on the flex drive issue...I don't know too much about them as I am a totally newbie on the scale fuse thing but hopefully 1 day soon I will have one to build. I would suggest to contact RCA and talk to Robert or Cliff but Robert may be alittle easier to get a hold of and he is very knowledgeable so he should be able to help. Good luck and let us know how everything turns out.

Thanks I thought RCA participated in this forum. Several members on other forums have tried contacting them about this issue but with no replies. Thought I would give it a shot here. Thanks for the compliment on the heli. Merry Christmas Mike

Thanks for the compliment on the heli. Merry Christmas Mike Mike, not sure about other forums but as far as trying to resolve your issues...this is indeed the right place as we've direct contact with RCA so if you're going to get any help...this is probably the best place to get it from. That being said, call Cliff or Robert and let em know that you've been informed to contact them by this forum... Merry Christmas to you as well....please let me know how it turns out.

If your picking up one of the "new" kits now they are using a TT drive. This should deal with the issues the guys were having with the flex drive cable failures. I'm waiting on the TT drive now so I can do a evaluation. When it shows I'll post the results of the install. From what I gather from the other forums this seems to be a much better and reliable set up. Mike

Here is what i found wrong with the flex tail drives. The ends that are on the the cable from the factory are not soldered well enough. You can fix this by removing the ends and re soldering them correctly. You have to clean and solder the cable ends and reattach the ends onto the cable. I found they didn't use enough solder to wad a shot gun. I had one fail in mid flight and it destroyed my Red Bull BO-105. So when i got the new one, this was the first thing i did. Been flying with it without problems ever since.

Wow that's a nice job mate. I'm glad your going with the TT as I would not trust the cable. That must be why RCA are going to better route. I remember a few years ago people were using the flex drives for drills but there was lots of failures as JestRR mentioned.
