I seem to have developed a lot of play in my blade grips on my 600. I thought maybe the bearings were worn, but after replacing them it was the same. It seems that the bearings are moving around in the grip as if the position where they sit has opened slightly. I'm getting 10mm play at the blade tips which is causing my tracking to be way off. Has anybody had this problem with blade grips "stretching"? Cheers Lee

With the blades off can you feel play in the grips? Blades do flex and the longer they are the more flex. Also I presume it is an up and down movement and not a twist as this could be from swash or servos with fbl.

I can only speak for myself, I have 2 BW heads (one on 600 and other on 550) and either one of them have any play. If this is an issue you can't resolve on your own, please let me know cause I can see if RCA can help you out.

I'm sorry I read you wrong. If the bearings now have play in there hole that was not there before it can only be caused by extremely soft metal, bad vibrations , or a crash. The bw head is made of hard aluminum (7075) so that rules out the soft metal. Let us know how you get on. We will help you out.

The grips have been faultless for over a year. I have been very happy with how solid the head is. I have had one crash in the time i have been using the head, but this play has only developed much recently. After the crash the head was just as solid as before. I was actually very surprised how well it held up. Nothing bent at all.
I want to clarify that i'm not dissatisfied with the head, its awesome. I'm just trying to establish if the bearings moving in the grips is a common thing not just in this head, after a good spell of flying. Cheers Lee

I had a BW head that had bearing play out of the box. It wasn't the bearing, but the grip ID to bearing OD. Mine had noticable slop just wiggling the grip. I swapped it for a Chaos FBL head and it's tight, like a tiger...

Thanks Jonathan, They don't seem to have the grips separately for sale for the BW. I'm wondering if i can just buy the Compass grips as they look exactly the same.

Give Robert a call, they have spare parts, just not on the site.
