Hi, all! Was wondering if anyone has setup a Chaos600 E with the trex 600 pro tail and autorotation gear. I think the modulus is .8. I am trying to set mine up with 12s, using the autorotation gear that came with the Chaos kit, and it seemed like I had no tail authority at all. I've also considered using longer tail blades to get some authority. Thanks in advance! I'd like to run 2100 or 2200 headspeed governed by Castle. I chose the Scorpion 650kv to get that headspeed.

Gary, welcome to the lounge. 12s on the 600 would make it a beast! I am not sure if anyone has done that swap but maybe someone else can chim in.

I would highly recommend using the kde main gear for that kind of power. I have done 12s and it is a beast. But you still need to make sure you don't run more than 12.5 pitch and make sure your gear mesh is dead on for the smaller gear. Another route you can go is getting the kde hub so you can run the 700 gearing. Just my 2 cents.

The Trex 600 Pro main gear is the same as a Trex 700 so I'll bet it'll handle 12S. The problem you are going to run into the the tail ratio. All the older 600E (and the Chaos 600) comes with a 4.5 tail ratio (tail spins 4.5 times for every main rotor turn). The 600 Pro uses a 3.85 tail ratio so the tail will spin slower. Align did this because many folks were running over 2500 on the headspeed. If your going to only run 2100-2200 your tail will be way worse off. The good news is that there is an Align auto gear that will run on the 600 Pro/700 main gear case and still have a 4.5 tail - but it's still the same fine tooth you have now not the mod .8. Your other option is to run the mod .8 3.85 gears and run a 700 tail fin and 115 tail blades - just be careful near the ground.

If you are limiting your tail servo your tail can blow out even with no other problems.
