I am running an CC Ice 100 and the CC Pro BEC - Moved things around a bit and where I feel comfortable with the running of the wires and where I feel comfortable that the leads for the BEC are not being stressed I now run into the issue of the heat sink of the BEC is hitting the canopy. It is bad enough that with the battery in place I can not put the canopy on. The portion of the of the canopy that is hitting the BEC is right near the skid.
So I am thinking I will use a sharpie - mark the area to remove and then break out the dremal - Never have cut fiber glass so not sure the best method or any type of post cut dressing I should do.

I have used a dremel on my last three scale builds. I use a black marker and a small dremel barrel bit and make very small glass removal. Little at a time is best!

You may want to put some masking tape or painters tape down on the canopy first (both sides). Make the mark on the tape (just in case your cutting isn't as accurate as you'd hope. Or so that is the case with me.) This will help keep fiberglass fibers from blowing too much as well as from splintering.

I would try and avoid cutting if possible. If you added some washers to the inside of the upper canopy mount would that give you clearance? If you only have to cut off a bit from the canopy just use a metal file. File in one direction to avoid peeling off more paint. With the painted side towards you file away from you. It will only take a second and you don't have to go routing for power tools. You can do a really neat and accurate job doing it this way.

had to cut as the point of contact was near the bottom of the frames and was such that I had I could not even it the canopy on with the battery out - I taped up the area - marked it with a sharpie and used a cutting wheel on my dremel. After I made the cut I used a emory stone and radiused the corners to prevent cracking - I could probably stand to remove a hair more but now the canopy fits very well - the heat sink of the BEC is fully exposed and the ESC seems to be running a bit cooler as well.
Since going to the 16t pinion though the electrical system is running hot enough in VERY mild flying (hover / slow left right circuits) that the canopy is actually warm after a flight. Battery packs look to be in the 125 to 130 degree range and that is running the 70-70-70-70-70 throttle curve and a governed 1850 head speed. Battery is a 6S 5A 30C battery

Put a bit of clear nail varnish on the edges where you cut to prevent the paint from peeling. Or clear paint or something.
