So I decided I need more Lipos. Which pack is everyone running? Right now I have the 6s Turnigy 5000mah 25-35c discharge. I was looking at the nano-tech packs but everything bigger than the 5000 is too wide to fit between the rails.

Mattox is our lead helicopter designer and test pilot. What ever batteries hold up to his constant abuse must be good lol

Personal I fly the Turnigy packs I buy from eBay and haven't had a problem yet. But in my 500 I use the pulse packs 40c. At less than $20 a pack for my 450's works for me! I actually also need to buy some for my 600. My biggest pack is a 3300 right now.

Hobby Partz used to carry the BLUE lipo brand which I like also but for some reason I don't see it in the 6s 5000mah40c option anymore.

Good choice on your purchase. I know you are only starting out that's why I recomended them to you. As Doc says there is no point spending extra money on lipo's unless you are a hard 3d pilot. 25 or 30 c will do untill you are at the 3d stage. Hell you could even do some mild 3d on the zippy 30c so your ok.

Since this LiPo thread is already here I might as well ask instead of starting a new thread.
My long run plan for my 600 is to buy the best 5000mah 6S batteries I can afford, but just to get up and running for small things like blade tracking and small test hops, what would be the lowest reasonable mah and C rating you guys would suggest?
Keep in mind the battery is not going to see and real flying, 2-3 minute hovers at the most.

Keep in mind the battery is not going to see and real flying, 2-3 minute hovers at the most. If thats the case, personally I really don't think it matters...you can probably go as low as you want provided that the cell counts are correct for the motor/esc requirements and you should be fine. For example, your 600 would normally use a 6s so make sure the lipo you pick is a 6s/22.2v but as far as the "mah or c rating" it can be whatever. Just keep in mind the lower the "mah" the less run time you'll have. Here is a link for some good reading on lipo ratings.... www.backwoodsrc.com/apps/forums/topics/show/3135120-lipo-rc-battery-ratings?page=last
