Have the super combo kit - came with the phoenixtech 1100KV motor and 115A Phoenixtech ESC
Using a Hitec Aurora 9 radio - Having a friend help me with the final setup - He was working on tweaking the gyro himself today and then called me up and asked about the ESC and if I had done anything.
He went through the setup (beeping away just fine) but the motor is failing to respond to any throttle input from the stick.
He feels it is most likely not either the motor or ESC but a setting on the radio. He uses Specktrum radios so he is not 100% comfortable with the Hitec.
At this point we believe throttle lock is disabled/off and the radio is not in throttle hold.
Trying to figure out how to confirm it I guess and also confirm the ESC/Motor are ok as well.

Had the same thing happen to me recently on my 550. Check the throttle end point on the Tx. If its not at zero it wont spool up, its a safety thing.

***Correction, the end points should say 100% and make sure the throttle curve "Rate" is set at 0% with stick all the way down. Sorry for the mix up. Also, if this your first time setting up an Aurora 9, Finless Bob has a set of great videos on it. Here is the link from HF helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=223607

This so simple and I forgot too, check to see if your throttle trim is all the way down

your trim doesnt have to be all the way down but you may neeed to run your endpoint down further then 100 on the low stick side. I had to do this on mine. I guess being my trim was not low enough running the endpoints down did the same thing.

On mine the trim had to be down all the way on this esc. I sent back a good esc only to get the new esc that did the same thing. Called them to only to find that I didn't have the trim all the way down. (If its not at zero it wont spool up, its a safety thing)

How do you adjust the trim on the esc - I am not seeing that in the instructions On your Aurora 9 radio, go to the model menu and click on "T.Curve" (Throttle Curve)....check the "Rate:"...it should read "0%"....if not just click "RST" which should reset it back to zero. Good luck, let me know if that helps.....

Yes, thanks for all the help. this was my first time setting up a heli with with a hitec TX. Now that i figured out how to use it, its really nice. But anyway, it was an end point adjustment. I had to set the low stick end point to 111% before the esc would arm.
