Here is the first flight with RCA's new FBL system, aka the Black Widow. They are shipping the larger 700 balls to go on the swash with the BW head now but I got one of the early releases so I got none. I have lots ( and lots !) of heli parts but no 700 size balls. I ended up drilling out the threaded end of a standard link with 2.2 mm drill bit and screwed it on the head. Its a very tight fit and I will be ordering new 700 balls to be on the safe side. There is a lot of force trying to push them links off on this head so you need the bigger link.

Congratulations on a great maiden! You have some big balls maidening in those close quarters. If it were me something would have gone wrong and she would have gone through those windows on the right!
Congratulations Again!

Lol yea I suppose it does look a bit small there but there was plenty of room. However I could not go to high as there is wires about 30 feet above my head. I took it to a field today all went well and was flying great but I had a glitch after about 5 mins flying. It was about 50 feet up and 50ft away coming towards me and the aileron took a bad glitch.I can tell you my heart stopped. I landed and checked everthing and all ok. It was not the radio because it's a Spektrum and the led flashes if you lost signal during flight. The only thing I can think off is the sat RX is beside the BW so I moved that to the bottom. Hopefully that is the problem. Ill get back here with my results when I fly again. Fingers crossed.

I had another 2 flight with it and all went well.....very well. I moved the sat rx to the bottom using a cut up canopy mount and done a range check and I still had full control at 50 yards so more than enough. I would have loved to have someone with me as I put it in a hover at about 80 feet and got it to hold still. I was able to take my hands off for at least 15 seconds and even then I did not need to. I plan to use this as a AP ship so this is great. I will use mode 2 for AP and have expo on that mode. Chris........you need to get one man! Attachments:

This is interesting b/c if thats the case, info like this may need to be made public to prevent any issues down the road.

All I know is the radio did not loose signal and it's the same radio gear the last 6 months in it so it's reliable. It was it's second flight with the BW. The first being above.I did have the sat rx up at the top which was right beside the BW. Hopefully that will be the end of it. Have to say though it flys great with it really happy.
