Oh coming along nice! I'm waiting on electronics to come so I can get mine in the air. I spent 2 hrs yesterday getting the 3 cyclic servos installed and the links for the push pull system. Gonna be a sweet bird

I was going to ask you about yours, I was reading in a flasher manual that the top bearing block needs to be flipped due to the locking collar riding on the piece that is holding the bearing. With it flipped you do not need a shim and it spins a lot smoother. I will find the article and post it. Try it out crmodels and let me know what you think

In all the photos I've seen of other Chaos 600 models and in the Align and Chaos 600 ESP manual's they all go the same direction upside down.

Yep I agree with you I looked a numerous photos and I ran across a build log where it was mentioned. I tried it and noticed a big difference in it being right side up. I can't post the article from my iPad, if you want pm me your email and I will send the article to you.

i understand not saying it is right or wrong. I just ran across it and tried it.
the upper mast block must fitted the opposite way to as shown in the manual, or the mast locking collar will not fully seat on the bearing. An alternative to this would be to use shims under the last locking collar. To the front of the chassis is a machined motor mount and a two position adjustable moulded battery tray. On the underside of the chassis is a full length moulded baseplate. To the rear of the chassis, there is the substantial moulded tail gearbox casing, and two optional RX / Gyro mounting platforms.

I checked out the link you sent me and the reason they flipped the block around on page 5 was they had to do that so the collar would fit. But they mounted the collar upside down as well. Here is what mine looks like. It matches all the other Chaos 600's Ive seen in pics. I am gonna run mine this way and see how it works out. The Flasher version you found is the only one I've seen upside down.

I don't think its like a one way bearing where direction is important. If one manual says one thing and the other says another. Obviously people have had luck with both. The bearing lock collar is the most important piece that is what determines the spacing below. See how she does
