The Chaos 600 will be my first build. I've had some rebuild experience with a Blade 400 and am still very much a newbie at flying but getting better! I've decided on a Chaos 600 and the flybarless version. I just don't know if I'd be better off with a belt driven tail or the tork tube? Your direction would be much appreciated. Thanks

A few years ago everybody wanted belt. Now TT is the new black. Me, Ill go for TT. The 600 gears are big and the heli sits higher in grass so blade strike is not as big an issue. A 450 is a different story. The gears are much smaller and it sits much lower hence my 450 is belt. There is also the issue of static built up with belt. Either way, both are good in 600, but I would prefer the TT. Best of luck whatever you go for......

the best place i like the TT in my scale projects . my 500 with the TT went in smooth and didnt worry about how the belt was twisted . but like valkman said its personal preference and its 50.00 cheaper and it has the metal tail tube so no static discharge as much as a carbon fiber one . just remember to spray the belts with silicone spray , same as for real car belts .

Thanks guys, I'm leaning toward the tube version. I'm concerned about extra damage to repair in the event of a less then perfect landing though. Guess I better get to practicing on the 400. Come on sunny weather!

Hey jombo, I just read your post above. Did I get this right? It's also a good idea to spray a carbon TT ? Just about to build my 1st TT heli. Any advice for TT is appreciated.

My 2cents for what its worth. The belts are great cause you can bumped the tail blades on the glass and not destroy anything. TT on the other hand be prepared to change gears. On the other hand the crispness and smooth feel you get from a TT set-up is like no other. All my chaos birds are TT but I've owned over 20 belt driven birds. Both systems work and are ideal. It really comes down to personal preferance. Like valkman said the 600 sits high up and if the grass is normal height I don't think you would ever have a problem. Best of luck

doc121, not sure about the carbon fiber TT or tube . its a silicone spray and i am not sure if it will react with carbon fiber to make it weak . the 700 is the first carbon tube i have ever used and its a TT , my other TT have a metal tube .
