Has anyone done a mod on their 600 to move the battery tray forward so to get even C of G? If so show your pics or donate your idea's as I will be doing one soon!

I mount all my batteries on the lower bottom plate and use heavy duty velcro to hold it down. flys better in my opinion

I took the 6 1/2 ounces of weight off and made this home made bracket to move the battery forward, perfect cg now. Video posted in 600 video section.

Thanks guys nice idea's. I would rather have the batteries vertical like yours HoverGuy. Having more weight forward of the heli will give the tail more work to do. It's better to have that weight as close to the main shaft as possible. ( Fulcrum point ) I have a metal battery tray I may use. (Bling!)

Mattox I tried your idea for just to see and it made the heli very nose heavy. I mean VERY heavy. Can we have a poc of yours please? For instance did you remove the back plate so you can move the battery in? I was going to do it yesterday but the wind suddenly stopped and I rushed to the field and got 2 flights with 600 and 2 with 450 before dark. Lovely morning here now so might strap the camera on the 600. That will sort the C of G! LOL

ill have to get some pics this afternoon and i will. I cut the vertical plate just enough to where i can slide the battery in and have it still give support. my hyperion pack is 10mm away from the motor. You will notice by doing this you will have a faster roll and flip rate and the heli will perform alot better in autos

I had a bit of spare time so I moved the battery tray. The wind is after picking up so I might not get a chance to test it out today but I would say there will be an improvement especially when doing Piro's etc. Edit.....sorry I cannot figure out how to put the pics into one reply! Attachments:

Vertical or flat? I did not want the battey too far forward as it would give the tail more work but after looking at both options there was not much difference. Attachments:

I just used a hacksaw and a file to smooth the edges. Attachments:

I used a double layer of "insulting" tape to hold the balance leads back from the motor. Attachments:

A quick sanding to prevent the wires getting cut from the sharp edges. Attachments:
