Hello All, I am checking the CG with my Chaos 600E and I need to add 6 1/2 ounces of weight under the battery pack to attain proper CG. Is this normal? The battery pack installed is a 5,000 Mah 6 cell 30C. Had I known this would have purchased a bigger battery. Is the heli made this way to accommodate the weight of a 9 cell?

I have a Limited Edition 600E and also use 5000mah 6S packs and don't have any CG problems. Can you post pics of your setup? What I am looking for is 1) which version of the 600 do you have - Pro or Carbon Fiber and 2) how is your battery mounted. The Pro version (also has a TT tail) has the battery mounted vertically and the CF version (has a belt tail) has the battery tray mounted more horizontally. I would guess that if the CF version had a battery mounted more like the Pro version, the CG could be shifted rearward.

I had to do the same thing to mine to get the cg right with the Fbl head and gyro. Flys great! Mine is the Pro TT version. Barry

It is the pro version TT tail. Barry, how much weight did you have to add?

I took the 6 1/2 ounces of weight off and made this home made bracket to move the battery forward, perfect cg now. Video posted in 600 video section.

you should have a secong set of holes in the frames very close to the servos about half way up the servo case. you can use these holes to kick the top of the battery tray back which will push the battery more to the nose. mine was tail heavy as well with the battery mounted vertical using 6s 35c 4500 mah packs. btw did you change your belcranks to those polished ones? not trying to pic your machine apart but your geometry is not quite correct. ideally when the servos are centered all angles should be 90 degrees. the bellcranks to do this are more like what a 700 uses.

As James V says...you need the Align ESP type bellcranks. They are the offset ones, the later Chaos 600's also came with them. You have the bellcrank to suit the servo being the other way up. The offset bellcrank allows you to have the two links to be equal length and the servo with the wheel at the bottom. I dug out an old pic of my 600 showing the bellcranks you need for your setup....I realise that I dont have the swash level in my pic, but it is close enough for you to get an idea of the setup. By the way, nice job with your heli, it looks great.
