Well he'll be 3 on March 23rd..He's flown his MCX 22 time's now and has total control of pitch. After another 20 or so flight's,i'll start showing him how to work cyclic (left/right/back and forward) ..When he learns that, well move to the rudder . He's doing awesome and learning very fast but this heli make's it kinda hard for him. After 30 secs the lipo get's low,she start's drifting and tail spins slow.Im alway's having to adjust trim. Once summer hit's and warms up out side,im getting him a DX6i and letting him fly my 450PRO with training gear.I'll setup the pitch so it hovers at a low headspeed about 6 inches off the ground.Heli will be set out a way's for safty .Does anyone know if a DX7 and DX6i can be hooked up for buddy boxing? That's what I wanna do for a while with him.

Found on RCGroups.com by rperego:
I've used a DX7 as the master and DX6i as the slave. Via the P-LINK versus Normal option, the slave can be allowed to only have stick control or also have secondary control (reverse, dual rates, etc.)
As an example, if using P-LINK, from the Master, while the trainer is active, you can switch throw rates for the "trainee". As the trainee gets more accomplished, you can use the NORMAL mode so the trainee can learn how to use switches, but then the slave must be setup the same.
Using the DX6i as the slave to the DX7, you should find the throws to be very close - in addition to virtually no difference in the neutral position of the servos when holding the trainer switch.

qmaverick, Thanks for the info .Im sure i'll have more question's once im ready to set it up..Think I remember one of the guy's at my club doing this so i'll see if I can get hands on help first.. Dr. Evil, Yeah and I have a feeling i'll be getting passed up in the next 2-3 year's by him.Well that's if he want's to stick with it,his choice.. garrettt04s, Pick up a used MCX.If she like's heli's like Jacob does, she will learn very fast because it turn's into a everyday thing. He used to fly on the sim all the time and hit full throttle..He learned not to do that with the MCX because he has to pick it up when it crashes lol..Now he get's on the sim and hovers just like he does with the MCX .. Thanks so much guy's..

Ah, heck, go ahead and get him an mcp x, that way the step up to 450 will be easier for him. Wishing I had bought an mcp x instead of the Trex 450xl when I had to choose between the two.
