Rovpilot26 and Pilotpete01:
Thanks for the information on the battery and gyro. The battery is the same size as a 2000 so it would just be a matter of balance. It seems to fit without any modifications. I was all set to get to the gyro put in but discovered a problem with the tail rotor holder not seating ont he shaft. Got to get with RCA about a fix. So close now. ;D
Have to admit there is allot of great tips in here. Thanks everyone.

So finally up to revving up in the yard. The 3000 battery works but does not fit in the canopy but not concerned because it does fit int he fuse with room to spare.
My only issues is that just above 50% stick heading into positive pitch the tail goes wild on me. like it is smooth, minor adjustments to keep it trimmed up to that point but after 50% it kind of just blows out. I am using a gt500 and if I hold the heli and rotate the tail there is barely if any any movement when rotated. It only kind of jumps here and there. Sometimes not at all. No light no activity. The The delay is at 20 and the left is at 85. What shoudl I check? Thanks

It almost sounds like the gain is set too low. ie, like its in rate mode and not HH.
