yes running a 3000 should be no problem at all in a fuse as you want that nose weight in there to balance out the tail.

I have been flying a blade 120 for several months and wanted to move up to something larger. After a lot of research and talking to friends I decided the Chaos 450 has the best all around value. Living in the Seattle area I drove to to their store which has an amazing display of helicopters. Like Dr. Evil said they even added the extra hi- performance motor. A friend has a Trex 450 pro & we can see very little difference except mine has carbon fly-bar paddles, this is a great kit. I do have a question, does the hollow end of the main shaft go up or down?

Nomad: You got a better deal than your friend. It is a good size, easy to build. Mine went together easy. Now just waiting for batteries.....Where is that postal truck?

Thanks for the help on the main shaft Dr Evil. My friend with the Trex 450 recommends adding a extra torque bearing on the torque tube for added support to help eliminate flex. Is this a good idea?

It won't hurt anything but its not needed cause the lenght is fairly short of the TT. Unlike the Chaos 600 and 700, they both have an extra bearing over the Trex.

Dr Evil:
Ii already got some parts from my 600 buddy. A few servos, an esp and a gyro. On my 450 I have the GT500 gyro but the 600 freebie is a GT9. The 500 is huge for the 450 so i was wondering if the smaller 9 is the better way to go. Any thoughts? Now that I think it over I guess the size wont matter since I have it going in a fuselage and nobody will see it so I guess it is down to which one is better. thanks

the 3000 will add weight up front and you will have to trim accordingly.
Pretty sure you will not be able to fit the canopy over the battery.
Largest I have been able to fit in (and it was a difficult fit) was a 2450

Hey Everyone! Life has been crazy since july and I haven't had anytime for anything Heli I am on vacation and brought along my Chaos 450 for some entertainment...dusted it off and flew it today. How I miss my heli's! Just wish I could have brought my 600 too! I put about 8-10 flight on it before getting way to cocky and crashing. Note to everyone out there, if you are using juniper bushes for a slalom course, you are bound to clip one sooner or later ;D Just need to throw new landing gear and some blades on and she should be buzzing around again. I also picked up a Gaui 330x-s from Cliff to try out. It is a quadcopter, never flown anything like that before. It is fun, can't wait to take the GoPro off my 600 and mount it on the Gaui! On another note, Dr Evil: Ii already got some parts from my 600 buddy. A few servos, an esp and a gyro. On my 450 I have the GT500 gyro but the 600 freebie is a GT9. The 500 is huge for the 450 so i was wondering if the smaller 9 is the better way to go. Any thoughts? Now that I think it over I guess the size wont matter since I have it going in a fuselage and nobody will see it so I guess it is down to which one is better. thanks rfpilot, I have used both on the 450, I am a huge fan of the GT-9. I know some people have had issues with it on the 600 but I haven't yet and I love how locked in it is. As far the GT5000, it is ok for just flying around but I dont like it when I start going inverted or do a high speed pass. Both seem to cause the tail to wag back and forth and I cant seem to get it adjusted out. Again though, if you are just learning, it handles fine for general flying and you dont have to figure out programming the GT-9 (if this is your first heli, you have enough stuff to figure out, one less is alwasy a plus!). Hope that helps, enjoy it either way you go! -Pete
