Wife and kids gave me an Estes Proto X Quadcopter for Father's Day. I got a white one. It's my first foray into quads/multirotors. Fun little bug for around the house and breaks at the office. The red and blue LEDs are great for orientation (4 or 6 blue on the front and 4 red on the back). Charges via USB cable and takes about 30 minutes, I estimate flight times are about 4-5 minutes. When the battery gets low before LVC, the LEDs flash. Get it moving in a straight line and she's insanely fast. The TX isn't bad, just takes getting used to, could be a smidgen bigger to help adult hands. It's still big enough to have a 2 year old's hands on top of the sticks while I pinch the sides so he can help fly the 'helicopter' (as he calls it).

Cool....yeah, I thought about picking up one for myself awhile back but never pulled the trigger. Although I've flown it around before from friends that owned one. You're correct on the speed on that little bugger, it'll go very quickly to say the least. I'm currently considering a 450-550 size quad to mess around with and perhaps do some aerial videos and such....we'll see. Anyways, enjoy and have fun with the new toy.

Yeah, it's a blast to fly if you keep in mind it's a nano indoor copter designed as a toy. The TX is just the right size for my 2yr old. So I let him put his thumbs on top of the sticks while I pinch the sides so he can help me fly it.

Front B motor went ca-put on the 4th of July. Being it has a 90 day warranty, I sent an email off to Hobbico (owner of Estes brand) and am waiting for a reply. It would appear that a motor failing under warranty is common. I really enjoy having this little quad for indoor flying when I can't get outside with my micro helis (need to dust off my Trex 450). And it's so much more fun to fly than my coaxial helis.
