Thought it would be cool to find out how many of you guys still have your very first heli that got the ball rolling to the hobby that it became a part of us all now. Post a pic. here if you still have it and if not, just tell us what it was. Are you still flying it? Well, here is mine...a 3 channel shopping mall special that I had a year ago. I don't fly it anymore but I can't get rid of it either.

Mine was the original Blade CP. Had it from April 2007 to July 2011. Sold it to help fund my first 450. During 2010 and 2011 when I took it out to the flying field and flew circuits with it, everyone was impressed I could handle and fly the bird so well since it was notoriously known for being twitchy and easy to get behind on.

Mine was a Radio Shack Blade Runner. No tail rotor and it was fixed forward pitch that you could add weight to make it go faster. Still have it but battery wont charge any more.

New member here.....My first heli is the Blade MSRX, at least when I can keep the links from popping off the main blade grips.. It's a hoot and zippy as all get out...hopefully by next summer I can snag one of the chaos 450 or 500 kits.

My first heli was a Blade CP. The LHS told me it was a great heli to learn on. YEA RITE!! All I did with that was crash & fix. Still have it with extra parts, even the old nicad batteries(3 of them). Got tired of wasting money and time on it. That was before sims. First one I actually flew was a Blade MCX, a few years later. Now I'm in it up to my neck. JUST CAN'T HELP MYSELF!! Drev.

Welcome to the club! My original NiCds got to a point where they would not hold a charge. I only had to replace the main shaft 1x, spindle 1x, and the tail rotor 1x (after 3 years of flying the bird).

Yep, it certainly is a sickness! Recently, the smaller birds are catching my eye like the Blade Scout. That little sucker seems like it would be fun just to have around, don't get me wrong...I love my mcpX and that does just fine in the house but $50 for the little Scout, its hard to turn down. Also, Xheli has these little 3 or 4 channel micro that is also intresting, check it out..... www.xheli.com/38h-miniflyer-black.htmlBut whats weird is that Nitroplanes.com has it for $20 less! Aren't they parent companies??? www.nitroplanes.com/38h-miniflyer-black.htmlThat being said...it seems that Xheli and Nitroplanes had re-badge these little suckers from here...... www.ehirobo.com/shop/product_info.php?products_id=10761This little thing is impressive......check out the video! ....and here is a video of the Blade Scout!

Well I'm good at rebuilding the msrx...I get too excited to venture into uncharted territory when it's a tad too windy outside or outside at night and loose track of it...ie rebuild time...after dropping 60$ on replacement parts and backup parts I'm much less aggressive now and do well with my msrx...just gotta get down the nose in business a little better and will be good to go...I'm always up for a challenge.

I dont remember what my first heli was called.. .but i bought it at wall-mart.. it was yellow.. and had a foam body.. it had a notched sliding weight on the underside of the body that would adjust the CG so you could fly forward with more momentum if you wanted..
it was really not very good.. but its what got me started
