Do you have any helicopter experience? This plays a Huge role! The 700e is a 12s Beast, your looking at $200+ just in batteries alone. The 700e swings 690 to 720mm blades, one wrong mistake and you could be seriously injured. You can get a 500 or 600 in the air for under a $1000 I had close to $1800+ in my 700e. It is Awesome machine fact and proven. To better help you tell us a little about your flying experience and what you are looking for in the hobby. A micro helicopter will let you fly indoor and crash crash and crash while you learn the basics. The 450 is a fun size and I highly recommend a 500! Great all around bird and setup right is a great trainer and 3D machine. The 600 is also nice because it can be run on one 6s battery up to a 12s setup down the road. As far as your FB vs FBL questions this topic has been beat to death and everyone has there own opinion. Fact - FB is much easier to understand and setup for a first heli. SO YA IAM TAKING MY TIME TO LEARN BASICS AND BUILD THE 700E. thanks chris. I thought i would give my thoughts on this thread! I love my chaos 600 and will soon be building a chaos 700. Lately you read alot of threads on the other heli related forums about new pilots jumping into larger size helis and the fear of these new pilots having an accident. I can understand the reasoning behind these posts but at the same time i went from flying a small fixed pitch heli to a 550 size machine! The jump to the bigger heli was not an overnite experience! I spent a whole winter practing on a simulator before ever attempting the bigger heli. After hundreds of hours of sim practice i successfuly hovered my first real collective pitch heli. I believe the ticket to success is lots of sim time and finding a local pilot that can look over your heli to ensure it is properly built and setup. With both of them areas covered your success rate should be close to 100%. Best bet is find a local heli pilot that is willing to mentor you and get yourself a quality simulator! If you got yourself realflight 6.5 i would be willing to offer up some lessons as well!! For the cost of FREE!!! With a headset and microphone it would be not much different then a one on one lesson at an actual field! The only real difference is there would be no pucker factor! Rc aerodyne and the chaos line of helis definately stand behind their product and take great care of their customers! If i can be of any help at all, dont be shy to ask! cheers Keith
