So the winter season is closing in fast up north here, but luckily the snow wont be here for some time yet. It has got me thinking about what I am going to do in the winter months. The house is too small and has too many hanging light with glass shades, and cabinets with thin glass doors for me to fly my MCPx indoors once the snow does hit. I have no problem being out in the cold, but will the helicopters? That extra foot or two of white stuff might make a nice crash cushion ;D If possible maybe the 600 will maiden after the snow falls in late December, early January.

Haha sadly I dont get snow here in AZ where im at. so its constant flying all year long. the helicopters can take the cold anytime you want! they will perform better to be honest. Air is more dense and ect. The one thing i recommend you do is warm your batteries in blankets or something around 70 degrees F for the best performance.

I was looking at that heli the other day. My MCPx is on its last legs. The main/tail motor is on it's way out and I was thinking of going brushless. That video with the indoor flights was very good!

The cold doesn't bother me till it gets really cold and it doesn't get really cold here. I was more worried about the helicopter but I guess it won't bother it too much

How my buddy utilizes the NY winters lol OMG...whats he thinking. It looks funny the first few times but than I started to wonder....he is chancing on stripping a gear, benting a few links here and there, flybar (which I saw him bent back). On top of all that, it just seem too damn cold to be outside...LOL!

I'm fortunate that one of the local clubs traditional rents out the gym at a community center a few times during the winter and hosts indoor flying sessions after work. Last time I went the helis almost outnumbered the planes.

I live in NW Wisconsin. I fly my helis all winter as long as the wind is not too bad. I just use the driveway for a landing pad (after I'm finished with the snowthrower of course.) Also I keep the batteries in an inside coat pocket. Seems they are very happy there !
