I'm wanting a 500, but I also want to go FBL on my 600. I can go FBL for less money than building a 500, but I really want something smaller than the 600 to fly at home and I don't really enjoy flying the 450's as I feel they are too small (personal feeling). I've not flown the 600 since last fall. I flew my HK450 a few weeks ago and just didn't enjoy it 'cause of its size (orientation (orange TR blades don't help that much)). I could get some high-vis fins to help with orientation, I guess... I think a 500 would fill the bill just fine, but if I went FBL, I might fly the 600 more ( ) I don't know... If I went FBL, I can keep the 450's (HK450 GT Pro and Thunder Tiger Mini Titan) and tough through it, deal with the size and just fly and learn. If I go with the 500, I'm going to need to sell off the 450s to afford the 500s initial build cost. [This frigging hobby is supposed to be fun, right? Its tearing me up!!! ] Or, I could just use the money I have saved buy a few more batteries for the birds I have... (sigh....) Jon

Have you considered making one of the 450s FBL
It handles like a much larger heli when set up as a FBL

The 450s fly fine, just lack the "presence" to me.

Sell your least favourite 450 & use that $ to stretch the other one to a 500. Just a thought!!! Drev.

Get a second job or just don't eat for a week and buy all that your heart desires...LOL.
Just kidding, thats a tough one bro. I said it before and I'll say it again....so many toys but sooooo little money to spend. Honestly though, if you have 2 450s...maybe sell one of them and add more money to a 500...my 2 cents. Good luck!

I've had the Mini Titan for sale for a while, seems like it's gone out of favor. I want to sell it, but not give it away, ya'know? The other is an HK450GTPro, but with a Gy401, scorpion motor and Ace ESC...If I could get $200each for 'em, they'd be gone in a heartbeat.

Go and buy the 500. I was in the exact same boat as you. I had a 450 and a Chaos 600 but I wanted something easier to carry around and something more stable than the 450. The 500 is a LOT more stable than the 450. I have done build videos of the 500 if you want to have a look. There is a link at the end of each video you can press that will bring you onto the next video.
Good luck in your decision.

I bought a 500 off RCGroups. It's not a Chaos, but a TRex500ESP and it is sweet. I'll have it here at home in 2 weeks, and the gent I'm buying it from is going to go ahead and set it up in his JR 11x, test fly it, then send me the programming so I can copy it over to my 11x.
Going to be a true B-n-F experience!
I'm giddy as a schoolgirl!
