So... I have had this BW head burning a hole in my pocket since the members only group buy, and just got the BW gyro in my hands yesterday. After the wait that seemed like years I could finally install the setup on my Chaos 600CF. I removed the FB head and installed the FBL head only to find the problem you will see in the video below. Anybody else with the BW head have this problem?

Anybody else with the BW head have this problem? Thats odd, the 550/600 should have the same size linkage balls on the swash. You may consider swapping out the ball links from your 600 FB head onto the BW but if that doesn't work please PM me.

Just as Mattox mentioned, the BW fbl heads are equipped with 700 size ball links which means you'll need to swap out with 700 sized linkage balls on your 600 swash. My suggestion mentioned earlier by swapping out the ball links will not work, i am guessing the standard ball links won't screw onto the BW head. 2 options...1, send me your mailing info via a PM so i can forward it to RCA or 2, pick up some on your own at your LHS.

mattoxThis is easier said then done. I don't own a 700 machine so don't have any 700 parts. No LHS here so have to mail order everything. [soapbox] What really bugs me about this is it says in the discription that this head is: "Designed for the Chaos 550 and Chaos 600 models Will also work with HK600, Align 550 and 600 models Completely assembled and ready to install within minutes." Nowhere does it say you need 700 size balls on the swash. I wouldn't have a problem with it if it said "You need to change the balls to 700 size to use this upgrade" then I could have orderd them at the same time, or even better, if the sent a set along with the head. [/soapbox] @dr. Evil Thanks I will send you a PM.

I'm in the same situation as KL0RG. No parts here for a 700 and no local hobby shop. Will the required balls be included in either or both of these kits? I'll probably just order one of the below if they have the required balls. www.readyheli.com/HN7099-Align-T-Rex-700-Flybarless-Control-Balls_p_33758.htmlhelidirect.com/align-linkage-ball-set-hn7065-trex700e-nitro-pro-p-8181.hdxJust check my links on the 600 swash an I'm seeing the same slop that is in the video above. I'm thinking the larger balls should be included in the FBL head upgrade or at least it should be mentioned that they are required. I also ordered a Tracx 500 FBL head from Nankin and will probably convert one of my 500s over to the FBL system. I would hate to experiment with FBL on my 600 and crash it. With two 500s I'm not as concerned with a testing crash as I would be with the 600. Let me know about the above balls so I can get some on order. Thanks, Crashmaster

This was simply an oversight on their part but now that they've acknowledged it, I believe a set of 700 size balls will be shipped out when anyone makes the purchase of the BW head. I will confirm this info. and post back here later today.

OK, I will probably have some extra 700 sized balls coming. I ended up placing an RCA order for PTHN7065 linkage ball set. I will only be using 2 so I should be able to help out others that might need a "set of balls". Sorry I couldn't resist.
I also ordered another BW gyro. I sure hope they work well, going on faith here. My plan is to convert my 500 as the experiment heli. Then when the balls and other gyro get here convert my 600. Hopefully I'll have the FBL thing figured out with the 500 so I won't put my 600 at risk.
When I receive the ball set and verify that they work I'll make sets available to those that might need them for postage or maybe free! I can't see where I would ever need the extras.
I'll let you know how it goes.

Lads the Black Widow could not be easier to set up and get going and when your at that stage you can do more tweaking. I got mine up and flying and all I did was look at the wiring part of the instrucions and this video chaoscrewlounge.proboards.com/ind....play&thread=443Remember also folks that you will need an extra tool to set the pitch as there is no flybar. I forgot myself! I made a simple tool out of the box lid the flybar came in. Once its a snug fit on the head and the top part is exactly 90 degrees to the bottom all should be good. Attachments:

To test it just set it to zero pitch, which I have at 25 % throttle, and pull the blade back as shown. If they don't match up they are not at zero pitch and the gauge is off. These tools are cheap to buy, but I was stuck and it only took a minute to make one. Will I buy one now....hell no! Attachments:

Great info there Joe, thanks for sharing. Yes it is very easy to setup for anyone who wants to go over to the dark side...LOL (FBL). Honestly, I like the clean look of the heli w/o the FB...I know at some point I'll be going FBL with all my birds. The BW gyro has been rock solid making this setup fairly cheap to switch over as well.
