Danny, On septembre the 45th. ;D
Yea there is definatley alot of scale builds going on right now. Pretty cool to see all the different options and things you can tinker with.. Cant wait to get started!! Hopefully this weekend.
Doc, Im gonna try to fix a working camera but Im not sure how to make that work. Gonna have to do some investigating!
Mike,
I believe it is just the fuse. The cameras and satelite finder under the belly will be after market stuff.RCA has a ton of different attatchments but gotta start slow. I did go ahead and spring for the detailed cockpit and scale jet ranger head. Hopefully it will turn out well and I can take it out to oklahoma ( wife has family there) and get some pictures of it next to the real chopper pictured above!

Allspunup, that fuse looks amazing, and has alot of detail it looks like. If you are going to put a spotlight on, let me know and I can point you in the direction of one you can make and looks like the real thing. I used it on my chopper 10 project also all the scale fittings underneath were scratch built. My skids were built by jestrr I don't know if he is still building them. I had received a few pm's on it so figured I would post up in the thread as well.

mike that thing is sweet!! That is the route i want to go. I'm wanting to get all the detailed stuff in this one, Carpet, fire extinguishers, the whole 9... Started assembling the mechanics today while I'm waiting on a few more parts and ran into a minor issue. It is an easy fix but it will require some modification. This is why the scale projects are so fun though rite? lol As you can see in this picture here the main shaft is forward in the fuse fairing. Being that I am using 600 mechanics so that I put the scale cockpit in I have a small alignment issue in the mounting hole location that is pre drilled. I placed the screws in the aft holes and you can see the difference from the front 600 bottom plate to the stock fuse holes. Rear Bolt location: Front Bolt location : I am going to find out how RCA has been doing it on there builds but I am thinking about making up a board to move the mechanics back just a little more and also would raise the head up a small amount. The idea is demonstrated (to the best of my ability) below: Stay tuned for more as I will be installing electronics this week. Hopefully I can start dressing out the fuse as well. So far this jet ranger far exceeds my expectations and I am really enjoying the build! Here's another picture I found on the camera that my daughter took of the pilots while I wasn't looking.. Too funny ;D Also a picture of the robust scale head that RCA is producing for this 700 Jet Ranger. This thing is super sweet and adds that finishing touch!

Found out this morning that there is an adapter plate that RCA uses to put the chaos 600 into the chaos 700. Don't forget to order this (like me) if your plan on doing a similar build. ;D On another note hope everyone is having a great weekend! Got to work on the fuse a little more today. I applied all of the water slide decals for the news scheme. I used to hate doing water slide decals on the old static car models but this seemed to go pretty good. This is a super quick tutorial for those that have never applied the water slide decals as you will need to do this because they are not factory applied. Prep: Get a razor blade and a bowl. Fill the bowl with water high enough to submerge the entire water-slide. If you do not have one that big its ok just work the water slide back and fourth to wet evenly. Cut the water slide to be put on as close to the edge without cutting the actual water slide. Soak in water till it freely moves on the backing paper. Once it moves freely you are ready to apply. Very gently slide up without creating a wrinkle and stick the top to the fuse where you want it. CAUTION try to get this on the first set,If your off it will be difficult to move the water slide. Gently slide backing off and work the water slide smooth. Again, VERY GENTLY using wet fingers work out the air pockets/ wrinkles as the water slide hardens and dries. This is a tedious process so do your best and make sure you have plenty of time to apply these decal with no distractions. Here is a photo of one side completed. Stay tuned for plenty more of the build to come! Feel free to comment on this thread and ask questions!

Nice the adaptor plate your talking about is it the wooden box that RCA shows in some of the manuals of mounting a 600 in a 700 fuse. I believe another guy on here had built one and just used wooden rails. You could do that as well as that is what century uses in the funkey lonranger. Could you post some pics when you get the adaptor plate. That jet ranger is looking good.

I was sent the wrong one, they sent a replacement which the post office lost. I haven't been able to reach Cliff at RCA to let hime know. But I don't really need the adapter as I already came up with something but I just wanted to see what exactly the adapter plate looked like.

I got sent the same one that you got. I just hacked it half and gorilla glued it into the fuse. Still working on getting the heli built up. Have some major testing at work this week so I have been studying for that. Will post up some pics tonight when I get home!
