Considering Align is my only 450 sized heli and I have only 2 short flights both resulting in needing repairs, I can't talk much. Now I'm just waiting for the winds to be low so I can take it out to the field across from my house for some hovering. Attachments:

Wow, totally didn't get any email notifications for ya'll's responses.
Well, the 450 has flown successfully.
I did it finally. 3rd time's the charm.
After a full day of working/cleaning up in the house yesterday, the winds died down and took her out to the backyard. I very slowly increased throttle until it got light on the skids and I could see how she was going to lean and rotate, reduced power, got my thumbs ready by feed in a little of the needed inputs, increased throttle again and got her up off the ground. Held her in a tail-in hover about 3 feet off the deck. When it drifted uncomfortably away/close to the fence, I sat her down nice and gently. Picked her up, carried her back to my starting point and started the process over again. I think I spent about 6-8 minutes doing this. While in hover I noticed a lot of tail wobble and the rotor control felt odd. After talking to some local guys on FB, I am convinced my tail rotor control was backwards and I need to turn the gain down on the gyro some. Felt good to finally hover the 450 and set her down without crashing. Accomplished hovering a 250 class and a 450 heli before the end of 2011!

Great job RCDude! I know for me, it told something like 3 months b4 I got the hang of hovering tail in and thats kinda still where I am at in about a years time but I don't really care becasue I am enjoying it as I go along and if it takes another year before I can hover in other orientations, I am good with that.
As for email notifications, you may need to check your settings here but also make sure they're not going to your junk mail in your inbox.

I learned helis back on RF G2, bought a new E-Flite Blade CP and could fly it forward in circles, tail-in hover, nose-in hover, pirouette (spelling?) it in a hover. Just got to be where parts and batteries were hard to find after 4 years and it being discontinued several years earlier. So I sold it to fund a 450, found a used Align Trex 450XL for cheap on RCG. Just a matter of learning this true CP heli. The Blade CP was a good first heli for me, but without the aerobatic enhancement kit, I never went to idle up mode.
Notifications are working now. Apparently I thought I subscribed/bookmarked some threads, but in actuality I hadn't.

I'm putting a Trex450 together to replace my 450EXI Clone. The Trex will get a Scorpion motor and esc, Align DS410m on the collective, JR3500G on the tail, and Align 3GX FBL controller. I've had a great time with the clone but I'm not prone to a lot of crashing so I'm retiring the EXI and stepping up a Trex. I'll let everyone know how it goes.

Finally got the 450 back up in the air tonight. I replaced the main gear many months back, but with work, my little one, and being scared I didn't get the jesus bolt on tight enough, I was scared to throw the bird up. But she held tight, didn't loosen. So back to working on hover orientations with the 450 while I fly circuits and work on inverted hover with the mCPx, and slow creeping forward flight with the 250.

It just takes time and patience like anything else. Sounds like you are coming along great. The main thing is to not get discouraged & keep practicing. I've been doing this for years & a crash last week (IT WILL HAPPEN) still bummed me out. Keep up the good work. YOU"RE DOING GREAT !!!!
