The scale rotor head is awesome....it was designed for the 800 series and as they use a 10mm mainshaft, it will also fit the 600's. The blade grips are for a 5mm bolt...700 size blades and larger. But I bought some longer 4mm bolts and fitted some 4mm innner, 5mm outer, brass tubing into the grips and am using the 600 blades. It does look nice on the heli...I also need some shorter links to the blade grips as they are lower on the head than the stock FBL head. I have ordered a few different size links and that should be no problem. I guess that the 800's use the standard longer main shaft and I am using the short FBL shaft which looks better on the heli.

Thanks, Mike, it is very nice, especially up close...it finishes off the heli nicely. I have modelled the heli on the Canadian Armed Forces CH-135 as it was the closest match I could find to the colour scheme that the heli came with. That meant that I had to make all the required decals and external placards....I was reasonably happy with the results. I am including a pic of the scale subject and a couple of the heli so far. I have a few things to complete on the fuse yet, but put it together for the scale competition. I am now going to take it apart again and set the mechanicals up and fly it without the fuse. My shorter links for the head have turned up and I have pretty well finalised the bits I am going to use so it's time to think about the flying part. While that is happening, I will complete the work on the fuse...just a bit of painting to do on my window infill to flush it and blend it in properly.

The Huey has become a shelf queen for a while.....I am trying to demolish a collapsing overgrown shade house in the back yard and build a shed in it's place to use as a building room. The shade house is covered in ivy with trunks nearly a foot across, it has been there for thirty years and is home to half the countries wildlife. It could take a few weeks to remove. To console myself from having to carry out the drudgery of gardening (sorry Evil)...I have purchased the same kit that Cliff gave away as a prize for the scale competition...a 500 size desert scheme AH-1 Cobra.....it should be winging it's way from RCA soon..I drooled over it for a month while building the Huey, so I had to have one. I will have no-where to build it yet, but at least I can look at it. I have far too many helis. but a wise man once answered the question, " how many helicopters do you need?" with " just one more"....

Thanks crmodels...I want to fly it as soon as possible, as you know, building them is fun, but flying them is the best bit... With the amount of helis you have built lately, you must not sleep, just like Dr Evil....

LOL BTW, congrats on the new fuse on the way....can't wait to see your build on this one. I just know it'll be great!
