Ouch - glad one did not come back your way. Back when I was hard and heavy into my nitro planes (heading back that way it seems) I remember when I had a very hot YS 61 throw an APC prop. Just missed me and impaled itself into the exterior wall of my house. In any case I said to hell with working on anything and I decided to get a few packs in. Flew the 600 a few times and got 4 flights in on the Erazor Here is a photo of the Chaos 450 on the electronics side

ok....back to the OP. So....did you ever get the wagging issues resolved? I am still thinking if you can get another tail servo just to test out, you would have your answer. Also, I always thought changing up the headspeed would only solve a nodding issue b/c it was too low but a tail wagging problem is caused by the gain setting on the gyro or the tail servo itself. Since you've already swapped out the gyro, especially to a spartan (A+)...I can't imagine it would be that. Which leaves the tail servo being the source of the problem. Just my guess, I do hope you get it figured out cause the Chaos 450 is too nice of a heli to just put aside.
On another note, I think we've talked about this before. I also have the Erazor which I been thinking of putting back to service at some point. Since reading your post talking about it lately got me thinking I need to put her back together sooner than later. Well, good luck with the wagging issues...let us know how it turns out.

It wasn't stable enough for his AP rig he was building so he went back to FB machine when he stretched it to a 700.

Ok looking at servo's it seems the align is made by Savox - Is that a good servo?
Did a timing belt on the car yesterday - the weather was so damn nice I said to hell with tinkering with the Chaos 450 and took the erazor and 600 to the park and flew some until it got dark. Had some fun
For your erazor - I swapped the head for a tarot and have been very happy with it since. Think the head was around $17 on ebay. Need to figure out how to use the tarot swash as well. Very smooth and tons of fun.

Havn 't seen anything bad about Savox servos. You should be ok with those.
I'll be looking into swapping out both my 450s (maybe 3 including the Erazor if budget allows) to FBL. I will look into the Tarot FBL head. Do you know anything about the Micro Heli FBL heads?

The Micro Heli FBL heads I heard are the best! As far as Savox goes they are Align servos just a different colored case.

neighbor is flying an erazor with the tarot fbl head and the tarot fbl gyro. he is really happy with it.
So what are thoughts on the align/savox - they appear to be the only ones that I can find that will fit with out modification and are under $100

not knowing the history of these servos (bought the kit used off another member) I was leery of buying another of the same kind (also no history of my own). If they are good then that is what I will buy if needed.
Spent some time with it tonight. Found that when you tighten down the screws for the tail pitch control links the tail starts to bind a little. So I loosened them up cleaned all the old thread lock off and then put them just barely enough to "seat" the head of the screw. I am really putting a lot of faith in the thread locker.
Also noticed that one of the tail blade grips had some play (vertical plane) as if the screw was loose. It was not... I shortened the screw thinking that maybe it was bottoming out against the tail rotor spindle. Still has vertical movement.... Basically it seems the bearing on the inside of the grip is not thick enough.
Won't be able to play with it tomorrow to see as I am going to be slammed at work but might be able to pack it up for a lunch time flight on Wednesday
