So do the Xs mean you are trying to be a crash ace . I think the being able to glue a foamy back together is one of the best features of these planes. I am still not looking forward to having to glue mine back together, but I know it will happen. I am just waiting for another good flying day so I can check to see if I have the CG right now. I think I was nose heavy.

Thanks for looking out Joe but it won't work due to different manufacture. I can already tell by looking at their canopy, it has different mounting holes. It's ok though, it's like my "6 million dollar bird" ......the old tv show saying " we can rebuild it......faster......stronger.....better"

Just joined you in the crash department All due to over confidence and flying in too much wind I also think that maybe I moved the CG too far back because it didn't want to fly right at all right from the start. First launch it took off great but when I banked to come back with the wind it was pitchy as all get out even under full throttle, but it belly landed a little rough with no damage. Next I miss judge the distance the wind was pushing me and ended up on a tree, still no damage. That should have been the sign to head home and reassess the plane and wind, but no, I said just one more try. One more is the tolling of the death bell , if you say it, pack it in and go home safe and sound with all your gear in tact. I know that rule from dirt jumping, it means either you are tired or something isn't right. I didn't listen to my rule, hand launched one last time flew out and climbed, started my return and the next thing I knew she was heading nose down to the ground. I cut throttle as it was coming in fast but I couldn't get it to pull out at all. Worst part is I hit the only patch of ice near me. I haven't fully assessed the damage yet, but one wing cracked all the way front to back at the fuse, one cracked back to the back of the wheel well and bent up a bit at the tip, and a shattered cowl . I am going to rip it apart and get the hot glue gun warming up. I will report back to the total damage and pictures of the damage in my "Joined the Plane Gang" thread. A new wing is only $32 if I broke the spar and I was going to go into Ottawa next week to pick up the retracts and flap servos any how so whats an extra $32

Ah lads that hard going. I think if I do go for a plank I'll stick to the high wing trainer by the looks of it.

Its not that bad, even if I replace the wing and cowl (don't have to, it all glued back together) the total cost is under $45. That is less than the cost of the tail I bought for my 600. Only 10% of the cost of the two on the ground crashes I had with my 600 I did have to get a bit inventive with the repair of the cowl. I was missing enough small pieces around two of the screw holes that I had to tape them over and then hit the spaces with hot glue to fill them in. I am going to buy/order a new cowl and wing next week just to be on the safe side. I am almost done piecing it all back together, just had to grab a replacement screw to mount the cowl and I am done. Then its rebalancing it

Sorry to hear that G...I've gotten over the fact that I had to glue mine but hey its all good. Thats one good thing about there foam birds, they're very repair friendly for sure....hell, even if a chunck is missing...there is plenty of foam around from packaging to styrofoam cups use for repair....LOL.

Yeah I got it back together in about 6 hours after I made the original the post. All of 30 minutes to glue the wings back together, and the rest of the time piecing what I could of the cowl back together. I had the majority of the pieces for the cowl, but some of them were just too small to glue back on. Even though I got it all back together I am still going to replace the wing and the cowl next week. For $45, why not, since I was heading into Ottawa to by the retracts and servos for the flaps any how. I still haven't taken it back out for a test flight, the winds died down while I was fixing it, and the day after the crash was nice too, but I was busy with other things. Today its is just too gusty to try out the repairs, and it is looking like the same thing right through to Monday when i am planning to go get the replacement parts . If it flies with the repaired wing, I will keep using it till I feel I am good enough to start rolling takeoffs and landings. Then I will put on the retracts and new wing. I will continue to use the shattered cowl till it falls apart. I don't think that will take long, first or second belly landing or first crash/rough landing
