The wind has been blowing at 25knots plus everyday for the last three months...or at least on the days that I am not at work. Beautiful sunny warm days with stinking wind. So to get my heli fix, I bought an el-cheapo scale md500 fuse for my 450pro flybarred that I dont use anymore since I built a 450pro flybarless. Once you go flybarless you wont go back. It was an easy install and looks really good. If the wind ever stops, I cant wait to fly it. Now that I have a FBL Chaos 700e, I still use my Chaos 600 FB a bit, but am thinking of converting it to FBL and putting it into a scale fuselage. I also have another Chaos 600 still unbuilt in it's box...not sure if I will use that one or the one already setup.. Cliff has a number of nice looking options. I would like to get the Blackhawk and maybe go the four blade head and tail rotor, but it is out of stock and all those parts add up to a heap of cash. He has just recently added the UH-1N twin Hueys to his range and these are a favorite heli of mine. The full size helis pound the ground when they fly over. Being a two blade main and tail rotor fullsize heli keeps the price down to make them look reasonably scale. I have emailed Cliff about the Blackhawk coming into stock and some stuff about the Huey and once I hear back from him then it's buy time... I hope to run a build thread on here...it wont be much more scale than what comes with the kit...just easing into the scale stuff, but it should be fun.....and it's big....58 inches long body length is bigger than the 700....not sure where I am going to build it or store it....detail...details... Then there is the color scheme...lots of choices...I am leaning towards the Italian Airforce scheme....my wife has an Italian mother.....you dont think I might be trying to soften the blow of another heli in the house do you..

Hey Andrew, I finally took a couple of pics of the MD500 fuse with the 450 pro in it. I also took a couple with the 450 pro FBL alongside it. It does make the scaler look a lot bigger than the normal 450. I had promised you these pics a while ago, but I am hopeless at taking photos and tend to avoid it unless my arm gets twisted into doing it. Attachments:

very nice bob, That md500 looks big next to the 450....I hope to build a ec145 or md500 sometime in the near future....I think a 800 size scale bird would be riot!

The wind has died down a bit, so I managed to get out and fly a couple of times. The MD500 has now done three flights...safely....I have trimmed it a bit as it wanted to fly tail down and to the right even though the CG was correct. Funnily enough the 450 pro when it was a pod and boom type flew the same , but the scale fuse exagerated it. The swash is level at centre, but as it has about 500 flights on it, the servos have a bit of slop and I guess that rears it's ugly head when it has air loads...a bit of subtrim has cured it. It looks good in the air and sounds a lot louder then the 450....due to resonance in the fiberglass fuse I imagine..
Cliff has come through again and a Huey UH-1N fuse (600 size), scale cockpit and led lighting set is about to wing it's way down under to Oz....shipping can be a bit slow this time of year due to Christmas being almost upon us.....I have also got all the bits to convert my Chaos 600 to FBL coming from various places as well, so it's going to be busy in a few weeks... After pulling the 600 out of it's storage and flying it again, I think I am also going to have to build my spare 600 kit into a flybar replacement for the one I will use for the scale fuse. It's a great heli and fun to fly, a real docile, elegant bird, not as manic as the 700...I would miss it if I didn't have one.....so many helis....I need a shed to store them...

It's Saturday night, just got home from work, and the Postman has delivered a huge box....that's two surprises...a postie delivering on a Saturday and the UH-1N has arrived so quickly. RCA rocks...very fast delivery. Just opened the box and man is this thing big....it looks great...I am drooling....the wife suggested that I may need clearance from the local airport before I fly it...it's BIG...pics will come tomorrow. One very excited old man....

I know its for your 600 but thought if it's next to the 700 I will certainly get a good idea of its size. Thanks....

Evil one....here is some pics of the thing fresh out of the box with my Chaos 700. It's about three inches or so longer than the 700, but much wider... Attachments:
