I have been waiting for some time now for the Black Widow head to come back in stock. I was told by the end of the month, but I am getting itchy to make the change on my 600 so I have been looking at other options. With my limited knowledge and Google-fu I have narrowed it down to 4 options - Wait for the BW head
- Go all out and get a Compass or TracX head
- Get a Align DFC head (Don't know if it will fit)
- Get the new Chaos FBL head
So I am looking for a bit of advise from the lounge members. The DFC head upgrade kit would require me to buy new blade grips, but once I figure in shipping and duties I comes in about the same as the BW head and the Chaos FBL head. I can also buy it locally so no shipping cost. The Compass/TracX head is about twice the cost, but gets good reviews. If I go with one of the other heads I can use my GC towards switching over to 8s, need a motor, FBL unit, and batteries. Maybe some FBL blades just to be safe, but my HK blades are a tad on the heavy side so I may be able to get away without them. So what does everyone think? This will be an after Christmas purchase so I have a couple more weeks to wait.

The BW head is very similar to a Trak head. Also the Chaos head with phasing arms is a good choice. Not sure what I think about the DFC head on my 450. To do it again I would go probably micro heli.

The TracX head is made by Compass, but has a specific one for the Trex 600, the pitch links are different but the rest is interchangable. I kind of like the delrin pitch links over the DFC's aluminum ones. I think that pitch links would be cheaper to replace than blade grips

Just grab RCA's standard FBL head. For $69.99 ya can't go wrong. It is prob like the 700's design with the mixing arms.

Hey George, how you been, I checked out that Trac-X head & it looks alot like the BW head except it has the delrin drive tubes where the BW has aluminum tubes & it's almost twice the price.(ouch!!!). Also the BW head has the 3 holes for height adjustment. I've read that the DFC head can cause boom strikes b/c it sits so low. Some guy's that are using the triple main bearings are having some problems with main shaft lengths.(just some stuff I read). The snows going to be flying here bigtime pretty soon, so you got lots of time to decide. Maybe you can catch a good sale soon, it is that time of year. Happy holidays to all, Drev.

Its not looking like we are going to be getting any snow out here for some time I can tell you why too, I got a snow blower so we wont get snow, the ground hasn't even frozen here yet My first choice is the BW (price), followed closely by the TracX/Compass heads (can get in Canada). I like the simplicity of just having the pitch links
