Sorry for lack of updates. Work and family life keeps the build progress slow. I'm at the point on the Wing I need to pick up some more servos and extensions to figure out the wire routing before sheeting. Fuse is in progress. I'm up to the engine mount work.
Got some decent build time today. I had to drill the pilot holes for the motor mount all the way through the firewall. The kit has two strips of 1/8" ply that glued to the back of the firewall. These are to add reinforcement for the blind nuts. I also had to cut off some of the extra tri stock reinforcement to make room for the strips. I'm using a larger motor mount than stock, hence the modifications needed. I also added additional tri stock reinforcement to the top back of the firewall. I'll post pics later.
Next is fuel proofing the nose section. I hope to get that done before vacation next week.

Finally was able to get a reqlly good chunk of uninterrupted time today to work on the next steps of the P-40. I was working with sheeting and curving the sheeting, so I had to wet it, hold it in place at sections at a time to allow the glue to set. Once set and the wood dried enough I had a fair amount of sanding to do. Next up is to roughly shape the top deck, which transitions from relatively flat at the canopy to almost completely round at the firewall.

Top aft fuse sides shaped and glued in place today. I need to do a fair amount of sanding on the top, don't have a place indoors to sand and it's raining out. So I am in a holding pattern for the next step.
