Thought I would share this with anyone who is using or thinking of using the BW Gyro who thinks they might need more channels for whatever reasons on their RX. So that everyone understands where I am coming from, let me just give you my situation first so you can understand what I am talking about.
As you all might know, I am getting ready to stuff my 600 into the Airwolf. That being said, everything seems to be working out just fine with the BW setup till I realize I do not have enough channels left on my RX to hook up the servo for the retracts. I use an A9 radio system and running the Optima 7 RX which means I have up to 7 channels I can use. Well 2 of the available channels are being used by my CC BEC Pro, they recommend to plug in both the wires into the RX (I've confirmed this info. with them on the phone not long ago).
Ports being use as follows on my RX:
Ch. 1 (Alie.)
Ch. 2 (Elev.)
Ch. 3 (ESC)
Ch. 4 (Rud.)
Ch. 5 (Gyro)
Ch. 6 (Pitch)
Ch. 7 (BEC/Batt.)
SPC. (BEC)
DATA (N/A)
OK....so here is the good news. Even though every single channel is being used at the moment but by running the BW Gyro with your RX combined with a CC BEC Pro...it will actually leave you with one additional channel for something else. Keep in mind, this only applies to those who are using the CC BEC Pro as it requires using 2 of the channels on your RX. As instructed from the manual of the BW Gyro, the wire going into "channel 5 (gyro) and channel 6 (pitch)" only uses the signal wire leaving the power and negative ports open which means you can splice one or both wires from the BEC to those ports. By doing so, you will now have an additional channel for something else.
I know this to be true b/c I've watched one of Finless Bob's videos basically doing the same with a tail gyro signal wire by splicing a pos./neg. wire to that same channel whereas it would not have enough channels before then.
Again, just a FYI for anyone who runs into an issue like this. Hope this was helpfull if you didn't already know it.
Notice "channel 5 and 6" only has one wire going into the RX.
