So far I've had the AR7200BX mounted on the boom block of my 500 CHAOS. Would the gyro mount be better or worse location? The reason I ask is that all of a sudden it has randomly decided to tip over because of a vibration issue.
I've read the threads about the 3M tape and plan on using that but I don't want to wreck yet another set of brand new blades. It's starting to get old real fast.

I would use the tray but it sounds like you have other issues. I mean that must be a lot of vibration to cause it to flip over. Are you sure one of the channels did not get reversed somehow?

Go back through and check all your settings. I accidentally changed a setting and tipped my Bell over. An extra 2 min preflight check could save a bird. I know I have fallen victim of not always checking I reverse the setting that monitors swash direction.

No settings were changed. The swash was correcting the right way also. I did use some thin foamy tape to mount it and when I bench tested it, the swash tipped right when spooling up.
I'll use the red-backed 3M tape and bench test again before re-installing the blades.
Also I'll go through a complete setup just to make sure.
I'm thinking the foam tape is what did me in...
Thanks for your help once again.

BTW, I don't think I'll be using the gyro tray because of it's 'diving board' flexibility.

Also don't add any cyclic input until the bird is off the ground. FBL units do Not like cyclic input until in flight.

That's what I've heard. I've always been careful not to touch the cyclic prior to popping it off the ground.
