Looking for a practice bird. Thinking about the Blade 300X. At $379.99 with the Spektrum/Bx receiver at $239.99 the heli comes out to about $140.00 & the Rx can be used on another bird later on. I'd like to maybe get a Chaos 450 combo kit but don't want to wait who knows how long before they get some in stock (if ever). The closest LHS is about 20 clicks away & that's the only brand of helis/parts they sell. Haven't made up my mind for sure yet but gotta do something soon. The sim just don't cut it for me !!! Drev.

Just pulled the trigger on the 300x. Ordered 3 Pulse Extra batteries (that's all they had in stock), Main shafts, feathering shaft, CF blades & an Align tail servo (DS425M). Going to make some frame braces & do the servo shim mod & other than that it will stay stock until parts get broken, screw up or wear out, then I'll upgrade (maybe). Hope i like this one. Drev.

I've got over 20 HARD flights on her and the stock tail servo is still holding... Edge 253mm blades come this week for it. Loving this little yard beater!

That last video was my buddy putting the 300x through the ringer. Gotta say I'm impressed with Blade over the last year or so.

Flew 4 packs thru the 300x. Got too dark to fly, sure gets dark early now days. Bird flies great !!! Used the wood blades, everything stock,80% flat throttle curve in st1. Just hovered around with a little FF. Think I'm going to like this bird from my 1st impressions. Drev.

I've got over 30 flights on mine so far. All is still good! I don't know how much more of my flying the tail servo can take though...

Flew 4 packs thru the 300x last night. while landing after the last pack the main shaft broke just as it touched down. No damage other than the shaft. took about 15 min. to change it out. Rained off and on all day today so I didn't fly. Called HH about the shaft & they're sending a new one (package of 2) right away. He even asked if there was any more damage done to the heli. This bird really flies nice !!! Drev.

Sound like you are enjoying it aside from the broken shaft I am still working on getting my 600 air worthy. I actually took the main blades off today and spun it up a bit(30% throttle) Good thing I did I had the gyro reversed

Drev what do you mean the main shaft? It is steel, I tried an auto from 30' feet (bad idea, without a one way bearing the bird won't auto worth a damn), I bounced off the ground and walked away with just a broken skid.
How does a metal main shaft break?

Yes, the main shaft is steel. It broke at the hole for the Jesus bolt at the main gear/tail belt pulley. I've been reading on HF that it's a common problem because of frame flex, the Jesus bolt hole is too big & the steel the shaft is made from is too hard. That's why I ordered spare shafts when I bought the heli. I figure the aftermarket guys like Microheli or Extreme will bring out better upgrade parts soon like they did with the 130x & the MCPx. Then the problem will be solved (hopefully). There is a frame kit available to fix the flexing problem from Asteroid designs (I think) that gets epoxied on but I believe they're out of stock right now. I do like the way she flies though, guess they all have their own problems when we all do the testing on them. Drev.
