Hey folks, Very impressed with everything I have heard and read about the Chaos line. New to this forum, and ready to order a Chaos 600. Looking at the limited addition package where the only thing needed is a Tx and Rx. I have a Devo 8s Tx, and was wondering if I can use that with the Chaos, or would I be better off going to a Spektrum or Aurora. As of right now I'm not sure if I want to go the extra $100 for the Scorpion version. Assume going the Scorpion route would not be able to use the Devo 8s. Am I correct in that? ? Don

Not sure what radio you have? Everyone has their own preference but I feel Spektrum are incredibly easy to setup and navigate.
Futaba is nice but you better sit down and read the manual!

Don't take my word on it as I am new to this heli thing, but a Devo 8s should work fine as long as you have the matching Rx. I think at the bare minimum you would need in a Rx is 6 channel, but the matching 8 channel would give you more options in the future. My first 2 attempts at getting my 600 in the air was with Copter X CX-CT9A, rebranded Turnigy 9X, cost me $400 in repairs the pitch channel has a glitch in it that I didn't notice. It would cause the pitch servo to suddenly jump ahead of the other servos just as I was reaching take off. I noticed it on the second repair . After spending as much as I have to get my 600 air worthy 3 times now, initial build and 2 repairs, I bought a Spektrum DX7s and a MCP X. I practice with the MCP X bound to the Spektrum, so I am use to it when I change over the Rx in the 600. I just may get to that next weekend, I have been pushing through on so renos and have company arriving on Friday for a week so I haven't had time to play with the 600 yet.

Don Welcome to the Lounge Don. You'll like how the quality of the Chaos is once you start putting it together, everything is exactly what you've read in many forums and posts. As for using the Devo, I am not that familiar with that radio but isn't that a Walkera product? You'll need aleast a 6 channel RX to go with it...but again, I am not that familiar with that particular radio so really can't say. I would say this though, if that radio offers a 6 or 7 channel RX to go with it...you should be fine. Good luck.

First off welcome to the club mate. Most would not know much about that TX as it is not the usual brand name. The main things your TX needs for a heli is 6 channels, at least 5 point curves on the throttle and pitch and a channel for the gyro adjustment. I had a quick look at it looks like your TX is OK but double check yourself. If you need an RX get 7 or 8 channel if you can you may need the extra channel later to activate more features like turning on lights, operating retracts or in my case operating a camera shutter. If not 6 channel will fly the heli fine. Besy of luck in your build and feel free to ask questions that's what this is all about.

I thought the Tx would work. Just wanted to confirm. Was hoping to save a little money by not having to buy another one. The Devo 8S is made by Walkera, and seems like a relatively descent Tx. Want to buy the Super Combo Kit. I checked with RC Aerodyne regarding the "Scorpion" version and they say that doesn't come with the polished Aluminum parts, however the Super Combo does come with polished parts. Thats what I want No real rush, but was hoping to find out when they will be back in stock. Thanks to those that replied. Don

Don Not sure when they'll have it back in stock but that is a popular item so I am assume it may be sooner than later. Another option would be to go with the 600 pro limited edition kit and add a scorpion motor and esc. The different in cost is an additional $90 (with 4025/1100KV motor and CC 100 amp ESC) but it would give you the polished alum parts vs. the standard scorpion edition they carry as is. Just a thought since the limited edition is currently in stock.

Dr. Evil, I like your idea regarding the 600 Pro limited edition kit. What all do I need to complete that model.
Assume motor, ESC, Rx, servos, gyro?
Would this run me more than just buying the scorpion version and perhaps buying the polished aluminum head?
