Is there another contest in the works? At this point Cliff has decided to put a hold on the monthly contest indefinitely. I can't tell you when and if it will ever return here on the Lounge. This decision was based on the lack of interest from our members here on this forum. I know I've mentioned this in the past months that there were fewer and fewer people each month entering our monthly contest giveaway. That said, I am sure is the reason why it has ended for now. Just to give you all an idea of how many people entered last month's contest......(only 11).....out of 300+ members. That is actually kinda sad considering Cliff @ RCA doesn't have to give anything away each month. Well for now thats where we stand but hopefully it will return one day.

It is really sad that more people weren't interested in the giveaways. Maybe a twice a year giveaway would bring more people in.
Makes me that much more happy I won when I did

I have to be honest, I didn't enter this last competition because there didn't seem to be a single specific answer to the question and it was so open-ended that it seemed impossible to give a specific 'correct' answer.
Even now I don't know what the correct answer was as it doesn't seem to have been posted in this thread.
To be precise, I didn't know if I was looking for a specific statement hidden somewhere on the website so the 'correct' answer would have to be a word for word quote, or if it would be enough to summarise the general intent.
Same goes for the previous month's question, I'm still not clear just how precise the answer had to be.
I love the idea of the monthly competitions, I just felt the format of what would be considered 'correct' was not clear and without clarity I tend not to enter things like this.

Here's what I answered for the last contest: On the RCHN podcast #12, Cliff gives a great interview and he basically states that he started out with the RCA Scale fueselages and they were designed for the TRex mechanics, then Align discontinued the belt drive (needed for the raised tail), so he got with a manufacturer that had an Align styled machine that was willing to incorporate the improvements he wanted.
He also wanted a machine that the end user did not have to change out a lot of parts to uprade it like the guys buying the TRex machines were doing... the Chaos is upgraded out of the box.
Summing up, he wanted a set of mechanics that was RCA's for the RCA fuselages, but was still a quality and high performance capable machine for the 3D guys too. Dr. Evil said I did good, so I expect that was a correct answer. Jon

Dr. Evil said I did good, so I expect that was a correct answer. Jon Yes, that pretty much sums up the correct answer for last month's question. The correct answer we were looking for is basically that the "Chaos" line of helis was created for RCA's fuses. This information was mentioned in various forums in the past as well as some of the videos by RCA but most recently on RCHN during Cliff's interview. Cliff wanted mechanics that would be compatible with the Trex and also affortable to be used in his line of fuselages. Well, the Chaos turned out to be more than your average HK or EXI. The quality was alot better than the average clones and better than the real thing in many ways with upgraded parts. This statement is not meant to put down Align products but simply put...you can own something that is as good if not better in some ways that you don't end up going broke after its all said and done. At the end of the day, it's unfortunate that the monthly contest has come to a halt. It's not anybodies fault, it was simply a lack of interest from members for Cliff to continue giving away stuff. This forum exist for one reason and one reason only and that is to support RCA but more specifically to help and support the Chaos heli line. The montly contest was just a little extra something for all the members here on the lounge, I guess sort of a thank you from Cliff @ RCA if you will for all the support everyone have shown to his products. We are all here because we want to help, share and support this hobby as well as each other and thats why this forum is so great.....to that...I thank you guys for being on here helping and sharing your experiences with others.

I'll miss it, cause it was fun. Well, that and it gave me a chance to win something.
I do appreciate Cliff ponying up a prize each month. Would it be bad to go through the members list and cull through it? I did a quick check and randomly looked at those with 0 posts...many of them have not even logged in to the site in several months! Heck, even looking at the members list, and sorting it by "top posters" shows that only one page of people, are in the 30+ posts (this one being my #37).
At least I lurk. Too many just joined and have not even given the place a look since they signed up.
sad, really....
