So i was lucky enough to win the scorpion motor in this months contest ;D
I was thinking I would give away the existing Phoenixtech motor I have to help out another but then it hit me I could use it to convert one of my nitro planes to electric.
The question though now is how to I make it so I can mount the motor to the firewall and still mount a propeller on it?
Thinking it would be the perfect size motor for my Goldberg Falcon 56 MKII

There is lots of ways but one simple one would be to buy a cheap metal 600 mount and drill that into the firewall.

Yep cheap and simple. So long as it fits!

Guess I need to wait until I pull the old one out and swap them so I can measure the hole spacing - Searched online last night and could nothing that indicated what that was. Couldn't even find a replacement mount for what is in the 600 in hopes it would have the measurements.
Again thanks - Still new to this electric thing - very comfortable in the nitro world.

The mounting hole spacing should be the same for all 600 sized motors, shouldn't it?

The motor has to fit "inside" that cage. We are not just talking about the distance between the mounting holes here.

Actually I found the can measurements - I was thinking the hole measurements - Not sure all 600 size motors are the same as I know the mount that came with my 600 had two different sets - and the KDE blinged out mount has like a thousand

The mounting end on a heli motor & a plane motor are opposite each other. Depending on the way the shaft is held in, you might be able to disassemble the motor & slide the shaft thru so it hangs out the opposite end of the motor, then the motor will mount from the back side instead of the front like in a heli. Does that make any sense? Just a thought. Drev.

That makes since but it looks like I could use something like in the first post if I can not move the shaft
