To chicken to do anything but hover with the 600 now - much cheaper to fix the 450's
I will put the bigger pinion on tonight and see if I can video the slop - it appears the one of the tail grips is loose on the feathering shaft. I would almost think the screw had bottomed out before tightening down on the grip but there is only side to side play - no fore/aft play. The slop is only on one grip.
Waiting on parts to fix the erazor and to complete the Chaos 450... I can put the gyro for the Chaos 450 on the 600 and see what it does. Where is the spartan on sale? Don't really want to spend more money at the moment but want it to work/be safe more.
I appreciate the advice on the CC Mattox - I never use "norm" unless I am hooking up the battery and getting ready to take off - I typically turn on the radio - activate throttle lock - hook up battery - after cell count I go through all the controls - step back - disable throttle lock bring the stick up a click or two and after the main rotor starts spinning up I go into idle 2 and continue to wait for the main rotor to full head speed then I take off.
If I understand correctly the curve on the radio doesn't determine rpms anymore as the ESC does - Confused as to how the ESC and radio set curves interact now...... Need to go get my coffee

As much as I really want to support my LHS they have been pissing me off lately - need a cool down with them I guess and then start going back.
Here is a video of the tail grip
I apologize up front as I shot it with my phone which is not the best for video and the lighting is ok at best. The first grip the only play is from the servo linkage - the second grip actually moves on it's shaft and I hope you can see it
Again thanks for all the help with this

Never noticed that my tail grip moves a bit like yours till now...LOL... but I 've been flying it fine and never had an issue.

I just checked mine and it is the same on one grip! I'm suprised. I don't think that is your issue as when it is flying it will be flung out and in the hover all the force will be on one side only. I'm still thinking gyro. You already said it still wags when not in Gov mode so that rules that out allthough that will do the same thing. Edit: I had to go searching for the link on the Quark sale so you owe me a pint! www.spartanrc.com/store/product.php?productid=1&cat=&bestseller=YEverthing I have read is good about these gyros and I am ordering one soon. Have a look at crmodels (Chris) vids he uses them in all his birds. All 5 million of them lol.

I'd buy you a pint anyway - I am guessing the servo that came in the supercombo is analog?

You do know I am in Ireland lol! I don't know what servo you got but it should be digi.

Think it was a phoenixtech servo - found the make on here someplace but don't remember right off - Yes I know you are in Ireland - Why do you think I offered If we every meet I will buy you that pint with a tiny amount of interest not to exceed a few liters of beer

Well I found my issue - I hit one of my switches on my A9 and apparently broke it on the way out the door. It was the switch that I used for the gyro. I went into the gyro menu and changed it to a different switch. Apparently I also have to go into the channel assignment list and change the switch assignment there as well.
It of course hit me after I had all the wiring pulled out and in general made a nice mess of the heli.
Took the opportunity to move my BEC and change out the pinion from a 15t to the 16t. - Updated the gov settings on the ESC and raised the top head speed to 1960 - middle being 1850 and lowest being 1740.
Getting a vibration now which I need to figure out but overall it is flying nicely. That said the heli does not appear to be happy with the 16t pinion.
Second flight I flew mostly in the highest head speed and when I landed the battery was 150 degrees and the ESC was pretty damn hot as well......

I would like to know where your vibe is and it seems like your running a very low hs for a 600. what type of flying are you doing?

Right now just learning so mostly hovering / orientation with the 600 - with the erazor I get more adventurous and fly some figure 8 circuits.
Head speed is what the ESC is telling me I am doing -
15t pinion / stock maingear running 6S with a 1100KV motor = CC saying the max headspeed = 1840 rpm (governed)
16t pinion / stock maingear running 6S with a 1100KV motor = CC saying the max headspeed = 1960 rpm (governed)
The battery got really damn hot when running the 1960 rpm so I am not sure I could go and higher on pinion tooth count - so that leaves going with higher cell count or a higher KV motor.
The motor is the Phoenixtech that was supplied in the super combo kit - Suggestions are very much welcome

What C rated batteries are you using. I have the Phoen 1000 kv motor in mine. After 7 mins sport flying the motor is barely warn with the batteries and ESC the same. I'm using Zippy 30c with HS 1900. I would like a higher HS though.

I am using the Zippy 6S 5A 30C rated batteries from Hobby King with EC5 connectors
