1520us/333hz is the standard for almost all servos. if its a very high end servo and very fast they sometimes run 720/240. but stick to 1520us/333hz

Can I ask why the PowerHD DC-1236TG? Comparing it to a dedicated tail servo like an Align DS650, the PowerHD is slow but has a lot of torque (the Align is three times faster with a fifth of the torque). Speed is important for tail applications - any chance you could just pick up a DS650 on RunRyder or HeliFreak?

I think anything designed for the tail of a 550 or up would be a better option than the PowerHD you have that is designed for other applications.

Here's a question or couple of, 1) Was able to pick up a Chaos 700 from CRModels,(thank you) and ended up going with DS615's for the cyclic, and DS655 for the tail. Looking for the servo specs. 1520/ 200?? 2) setting up the ikon for it, all is pretty much straight forward, 'cept not getting the same travels on elevator and aileron. Aileron travel is short in both directions. Have aluminum servo wheel and links are installed per trex, for fbl. Adjusting up on gain doesn't help. Any suggestions? Put the standard push rods back on, (had carbon). One thing I did notice, elevator servo pushrods had to extend them from setup, two turns to get them centered on ball, while the ailteron were right on. Both servos are solid mount. Any ideas? Return servos??

I was able to due a short lift off with it just to see it fly. Had only 15-20 secs of hovering, but was able to due a quick check for tracking. suprisingly looked good. Not enough time. Course with the aileron servo not moving at the same rate, the heli would drift the the left more so as the collective was advanced. So I wasn't gonna push my luck.

Hi Dr. E. there were no sub trim put in. As far as end points, those are adjusted in setting up the ikon, to get 100% gain in it. The end points in the radio, DX8 ends up around 120. I was thinking of moving the ball ends to the outer mounting holes on the servo wheel and checking if travel is closer. Have any ideas??

Well after doing some reading over at HF, found out that one has to go into advanced settings, common, servo and adjust end points in there. So that was all good. No trying to figure out how to get the self level set up in my dx8. Which channel it is using.

Would be nice if the ikon had more instructions to review. Otherwise, after reading from others, it should be interesting.

Does anyone know what the correct gyro parameters are for the DS 402M tail servo? 1520uS/333Hz perhaps?
