So just got my 450 in the mail (bought it off the board) and have a couple of questions
1. - the torque tube seems to have a pretty nasty little bind in it - the tube itself appears to be made of a pretty soft metal tube and has a bit of a bow to it. Didn't think it would be a enough to cause that much of a bind but it is there.
The tube on my 600 does not appear to be metal - is there a similar one for the 450?
2. - Where can I find the carbon rod for the tail rotor servo - seems all the online sites only have the thin metal one.

Maybe when the tail was org. installed, the boom could of been pushed in too far causing the bow resulting a bind?? Would back it out free up the bind? The TT on my 600 is matel. 2. Are you talking about the 600 or the 450 cause I don't know of anyone selling a carbon tail push rod for the 450 but as far as the 600 goes, you should be able to get one online.

I was asking about a push rod for the 450 (like the one that comes with the 600) - Friend of mine has a trex 450 and I believe it has the carbon push rod. Checked all the usual places and haven't found any.
I will pull it back and see - that said it rotates freely for probably 350 degrees and then it binds up and you can hear the gears really grinding on each other and it gets stiff - from there it is happy again

Take the boom off and roll it on a flat surface. You will then be able to tell if its the boom or torque tube. It's also a good time to give a closer inspection to the gears.
You can find the carbon pushrod at tarot-rc us

That looks like a great site - looks like they ship out of Hong Kong - How are they on shipping times

I pulled the tail back off and it seems the issue is on the front transmission gears - when I spin them without the main gears in place and without the torque tube rod in it still binds up. Guess I will stop by the LHS on the way home and see if they have a set actually it appears to be both sides

Well the LHS had tons of rex450 parts but none for the torque tube models - So I placed an order for the gears and a replacement torque tube rod

I got the gears in last night and put them in this morning. Much smoother now. It appears that both front and back sets had gears that where out of round with the front set being the worst. I put align parts in but to be honest with you I like the looks of the Chaos tail rotor spindle better as it appears to hashings on it to retail lubrication where as the align part is just smooth steel.
In any case I am now able to proceed with the build up - oh also did finless bob's tail mod as well. Not sure it will do much for me but we will see.
