Hi,
I have a Chaos 550E coming to me 2nd hand next week. The seller wasn't able to tell me much about the included speed control or esc except to say they were the "stock" ones that came in the combo and were made by Phoenixtech. He said the motor was 1100kv and the esc was 115amp. I would like to know the tech specs of them both - watts/amps/max cells/etc... and here is why.
I built a new Chaos 600E PRO that I love! Using an 800kv motor I already had with 8 cells. Had to buy larger pinions (5mm shaft) to get head speed up due to tail bobbing up/down. I am now thinking that maybe the 1100kv motor from this 550 combo could get the head speed up more on the 600. I have a Hacker A40 from my Raptor e550 I could put on the 550 that's coming. I am assuming that because alot of the 550 and 600 seem to be similar that might work. Will the stock 550 motor/esc take 8 cells and have the amps/watts for the 600. BTW - no 3D flying here on either - sport and scale flying only.
Also, the 600 will eventually go in my RCA Agusta 109. I was thinking I would put the Black Widow FBL head and controller from the 550 on the 600 and move the 600 FB head to the 550 - am I correct to think that can be done too?
One more thing... he doesn't seem to have the manuals for the esc/motor/black widow FBL head/controller - can anyone point me to downloads for them?
Thanks, Rob

Rob, I will try and get those info. for ya but note that what came in the 550 super combo kit is also being used in the later versions of the Chaos 600 as well. Alot of those info. is somewhat spread around in this forum.

Thanks guys for the info so far. I decided to order another CC ICE 100 to handle the 8 cells. Any idea if the motor can take the 8 cells? I have been trying to research myself as well and I am just not finding definite answers.
Thanks, Rob

The Phoenixtech 5035-1000 can handle up to 8S, so I can see no reason that the 1100 wouldn't be able to do the same. You may have to drop down the pinion a few sizes to compensate for the higher kV and cell count.

Yes this is ok. I would not swap the main shafts they may be different lengths.

Update - I was able to swap the Black Widow FBL head to the 600 and the 600 flybar head to the 550 with out changing mainshafts (they were the exact same shafts). I did have to change the servo to swash links as the 550 ones were too short with the 600 head. I ended up not swapping motors as the Hacker is too small for the Chaos 550. Thanks again, Rob
