After a year of building, changes, reading, learning & learning more from these forums, adjusting, readjusting & checking I finally got my 600 in the air today!!! She flew great. No shakes, rattles or rolls. Man "WHAT A RUSH"!!! Flew 3 batteries thru her & no problems. Been home for over an hour & still shakin'. Need to make some Tx adjustments to make it handle a little crisper. Can't wait to go out again. Weather today was perfect. All that practice with the MCPx sure paid off. Still a Loooong way to go. Could not be any happier. Drev. Thats AWESOME!!! Take your time and enjoy the flight!

Flew another 4 packs thru the 600 today. 7 min.flights. Don't know how much the batteries will take to charge back up, just started charging for tomorrow. Weather is supposed to be good all week so I hope to get lots of flying in. "AIN'T THIS GREAT". Drev. Edit --- So far put just over 3400ma back into 2 of my 5300ma batteries. Seems like a 7min. flight keeps me inside the old 80% rule for lipos. How much flight time are you 6s guys/gals getting?

Had a tip over. Landed on an uneven piece of grass & 1 skid ended up on a high clump of grass & she fell over right after I hit TH. Damaged main blades, bent the flybar, stripped the main & the rear tail gears. I got off lucky I think. Could have been much worse if she was still under power. Have all parts except the main gear. Ordered the gear was just shipped so it should be here hopefully Wednesday & I'll be back in the air Thursday. I guess s#!t happens. I fly at a nearby soccer field area(4 or 5 fields all together) so I'm going to look into some kind of portable landing pad made from plywood or something. Got any suggestions on something I can build myself? Would appreciate any suggestions. Drev.

Sorry to hear that drev but glad damages was minimal. I suggest maybe something like a rubber mat that can be rolled up to take with you. Good luck on the rebuild.

I also use a large rubber door mat. It folds easy and I just leave it in the boot of the car. If the grass is long I just walk an the mat a bit to flatten it down. It's also handy to stand on when you take off if the grass is wet! It is easy to carry which is important if you have a bit of a walk to your flying spot. Sorry to hear that. Chris ( crmodels) is selling some spare parts cheap for the 600 you should have a look.

That's a good plan with the rubber mat. I'm going to check into it. About buying parts from Chris, that's a good idea but shipping across the Can/US border is always a hassle. The parts sit in customs for who knows how long(our gov. at work),you still get taxed & then theres the dreaded brokerage fees. It's easier, cheaper(no offence to Chris) & quicker just to get the parts from the internet. There are a few good websites in Canada to buy from that offer free shipping as well. I have all the parts to fix the bird except the main gear & they come 2 in a package so I'll have a spare for next time. Should have her fixed up by tomorrow night. Fly safe... Drev.

USPS to Canada Post there is no brokerage fees, well maybe an $8 handling fee from customs. Also a personal sale shouldn't get taxed, not saying it wont, just that it shouldn't. Lastly the slow Canadian Customs is Vancouver, if it comes across in the Toronto area they are pretty quick. One last option is that Chris isn't that far from either of us, just in opposite directions. I think I am about 4 hours north east of him, and I think you are right in the same distance, but north west, so you could always go for a little drive. That's a good plan with the rubber mat. I'd love to do some travelling & meet you guys but my disability keeps me very close to home. That's what caused my rc "ADDICTION". After I couldn't work anymore I went nuts from boredom, even got drinking heavy for a while. Then I smartened up & bought a plank, then another 1 & then got into the helis. Planes are fun but helis are a riot. Drev

Nice man glad you found yourself in helis. Been in the r/c hobby since 1986 when I was six. Couldn't picture my life without the hobby. It is a wonderful outlet when life is tuff or need a break!

I have nothing against that, but two things keep me from making the trip right now, I don't have a passport never needed one growing up, only needed a landing permit to buy beer on Sundays ;D And the big one is that while I was living in the big city out west I let my drivers license expire, biggest mistake I ever made Now that I have moved back to small town Eastern Ontario I am going through the whole process of getting my license again, but its such a pain and they may make me do the graduated license so I wouldn't have a full drivers license for a couple years Its kind of maddening really, I drover for 26 years and only got 1 speeding ticket in all that time, no other charges ever, but they are going to treat me like a new driver. Hey you Canadian boys ever want to come down my way for a weekend of flying I'd open our clubs doors up to you! Should make the drive to our 3day heli event in sept!

Only 1 speeding ticket, you're doing good my friend. I just got another one this past weekend going up to NY in VA. Damn it, they should make a law against cops hidding behind bushes! Not fair if you ask me.
