Well got the 450 today, guess USPS played kickball with the box. I took a quick look at it and everything seems fine just a crack on the canopy. This will be my sons 450 so I imagine e canopy will get a few more cracks with the student pilot. I will post pics up tomorrow.

Its a really easy build as the head is all together already.

Yeah it's all complete but I'm going to Tear it all apart and me and my son will rebuild it. Want to make sure all has loctite and let my son put it back together with me watching and checking. I got the super combo so it came with everything ready to go, the upgrade I guess is no longer available because I didn't get the scorpion motor. I fly scale so it would not be used unless I got me a 450 to mess with.

Yeah I was going to buddy box him but I'm just going to stand behind him and have my hands on the sticks as well but let him fly. I will put training gear on it and take baby steps with him.and if he gets in trouble i will just power up and fly it.

Well I had to send an email to cliff. I did not receive the jy401, the450 is missing the tailboom, torque tube, tailboom supports and tail control rod. I was going to build it with my son this weekend guess I will put it under the table and see what is done. I am not happy right now so I will reframe from saying anything else. I have spent a lot of money with rc aerodyne and tried to help promote the scale fuses. Oh well. Mike

Yeah that's the way I'm going to teach him to fly. He has the basics down with the littler helicopters so he should be fine. I want to teach him the safety side of it too as well. I learned on a nitro 30 and training gear with no buddy box. I have training gear for him so it should be good. I think it was Robert I placed my order from, so sent cliff an email. I understand things happen but this kit looked like it had picked through. My tail rotor I thought was missing too but it was pressed inside the canopy and I think that is what caused the crack in the canopy cause it was wedged in that area. I have boxed it up and put it under the table thanks for sending out those screws I will put them aside when this gets fixed. At least the g jive made it I'm going to go through it tonight as well to make sure nothing is missing if this has missing parts I think that's going to be it for me. Mike

alright back in business with the 450 missing parts arrived today, and can say cliff came through to really make it right. I will post pics up this weekend as it will be slow as my son is building this helicopter for himself with my oversight. I think this is one project im really going to enjoy. He has already pulled his mom and sister down to show his progress. that is the best thing in this hobby is being able to share it with your family and friends.

That's a pain about the parts missing. They were probably in one kit bag. I persume these are kitted into the box in China??? Don't know. Your sorted and that's the main thing.
WHat age is your son Mike? That's cool that you can pass all that onto him and Chris now teaching his Dad. Your son will learn so much as well as having bond time together.

Valkman
Yeah it happens and I explained that to him as well with missing parts. He is 11years old and has been flying the little coaxial helicopters and my plan is to teach him from the ground up with tail in hovering then 45 degrees to the left and right and 90 degreess to the left and right then go on to nose in hovering. We will have training gear and I will be right there with him. I learned on a 30 nitro with training gear before he was born then took a break from it due to his age and having to keep your head on a swivel with little ones. He is a lot older and wants to fly so we make it father son thing and have fun.
