there is no room for even a cockpit. I have to put the batteries all the way in the front just to balance out the heli due to the torque tube system. I lifted it up with out the packs and it hangs at a 45 deg angle. to say its tail heavy is an understatement!!

So it was time to test. So i through in the packs and started it up. THis heli has the SK-720 with hyperion servos all the way around. so it came up with no problems, only a slight vibration. Nothing that i wouldn't have expected from a first flight. I took it up to about 50 feet for a slow flight around the parking lot. About that time i started to hear a weird noise. with that, the tail gave way and it was headed down to earth. I didn't have throttle hold set so i just turned it off. I was able to sort of auto it down hard. it smacked hard enough to send the landing gear up through the fuse and the front upper cowling got through into the blades. It got broke but nothing bad enough to panic!! I found that the new gear blocks that reposition the transmission were a little to tight and the angle gears failed. here is the angle gear that failed. Here is the second flight with a real test on the gears.

Very well done JestRR ! I really like videos where you can actually hear the heli. Great job modding the exhaust deflectors. I may borrow your idea when I do my 500 hawk, lol ;D

So here are some final pics out in the sun light. the doors open and slide!! easy access to the batts in the front. For lights I used the strobe box from RCA but used the strobe bulbs out of a disposable camera to get a straight bulb. Been using those for years with different electronics but the box from RCA makes it real easy to use REAL strobe lights!! But that is a separate build thread. And also a light kit from RCA for the nav lights and if i ever get a landing light that can be added too. Sorry about the video. Shot with a GoPro but had to zoom in just to see the dam thing......I need a new camera!!!

Great build... but it seems that your side doors are on backwards... the handle should be on the front

yeah the doors are on backwards, they molded the runners wrong so the door handles are backwards. It wouldn't fit right cause i tried to switch them. Not a big deal cause you could nit pick this to death. Its got the wrong doors, windows, nose, and a host of other things to be a real VH-60 but its a real good interpretation with out doing a whole new mold.

Don't get me wrong. It's a great bird... and for what it is.. a flying model... it's awesome. I'm on a dead slow 500 size build so I'm admiring the work you did with the 600 size..
