here is a picture of screw bag and woo supports for the mechanics mounting to fuse. the bottom piece of wood is what screws to the wood base in the fuse the wood on top is used to space the mechanics up to proper height. the last two pics are the landing gear hate the shiney black so repainted to olive drab.
here are some more photos i am putting it up until next weekend. I will build the tail and mount the mechs next weekend. I have to clean the table and kitchen up now from my mess. enjoy mike
Yeah everything comes with the fuse. I just taped off the mini guns and painted them along with rocket pods. I did add some silver to the front of the mini guns and the rocket pods to give it a used look. I will build the tail next week with the 3mm led and it should look good. I am at the crossroad now of if I want to use a 5 or 4 bladed head. I can only find one 5 bladed head from RCA and it is around 279.00 so choices I guess.
ok i forgot how much i hate rewiring 3mm leds, but it turned out good. I still have some sanding to do on the tail area to fit the lights but the finished product will be up in pics this afternoon. The first pics are what i used for tools. the next step was to mark and cut the plastruct to the length i needed and i also used a rc car body reamer for post holes to make my square base have a round inside diameter. Which worked out great for shaving off just enough for the round led holder to snap in without glue.
the next step was to pull the plugs off the led wires and tin them to the led itself due to the plug not fitting in the plastruct.
now i will set the finished lights aside to let the wires dry as i painted them olive just like the fuse and will run the wires right close to the bottom once mounted will not be as noticable. these lights will plug in right at the tailboom so it will be easy to remove tail stabilizer without ripping wires from the front of the helicopter
now i am at the support of the lights on the tail. I am sanding everything smooth and flat to glue the light housing to the fuse and test lights today again.
alright finished up the lights on the tail and removed the mask for the numbers on the tail. This turned out nice for a 500, it would be easier in a 600 but happy with results.
here is a link to the video
as you can see the lights do not look to big with the tail fin completely built
alright on to the belly strobe, I thought i had another 3mm red strobe but did not. I ordered that today and will finish that next week. I was waiting on some info for 3mm led lense covers, but looks like i have to order more than i would ever need. With that me and the wife headed to radio shack and i picked up the following led with lens. it is green as they only had one red,so i practiced on cutting the green one to get it where i wanted it. The first was to pull the exsisting led out by cutting the plastic right at the threads.
now that the led was test fitted and happy with it i cut the red one down to the right size and it looks as below
now here is the 3mm led, red lens and the nut that will hold it in the fuse. the fit is perfect and when i get my red strobe in i will fix it to the fuse and then move to the navigation lights and landing light.

Dr. Evil: git er done, you should post this question in the "Chaos 600" threads. I don't think too many ppl looks at this section. As far as your question goes, are you asking if the Trex main/auto gears will fit the Chaos?
